The controls for Mario 64 DS was pretty much ruined it for me.
3D visuals and improved graphics would be nice but, honestly, I just want to be able to play the game as it was meant to be played.

I must be just about the only one who didn't have a problem with Mario 64 DS's controls.
Anyways, I don't think remaking an N64 port would go over very well right now.
I didn't have a problem with them either. I really enjoyed getting all 150 stars but don't feel the need to do it again.I must be just about the only one who didn't have a problem with Mario 64 DS's controls.

I dont think it'll happen. If anything, we might get a Super Mario 3D Land 2 :P lol (I doubt that too, but you never know).

I wouldn't be surprised and I wouldn't be against it. :P

I agree, but I wouldn't mind it being released. There isn't much of a need to really "remaster" the game, just do the game proper resolution and aspect ratio w/3D. They need a N64 VC--$5.99-$9.99
A remake of a remake would be pretty funny. They should just remake the entire Nintendo 64 library :D Would destroy Virtual Console and PSN
Mario 64 DS worked great with the control pad. The touch screen controls were awful though. I wouldn't mind seeing another remake given that it's one of my favorite games of all time, but I'd rather Nintendo focus their efforts on making something new. I've played through the game and gotten all the stars at least 100 times if not more between the N64 and DS version.

They made three Super Mario Land games for Game Boy (if you include the third which is the first Wario Land) so it could happen.
I doubt they'll remake a remake, especially if the remake can be played on the 3DS. Seems pointless.
Also, saying SM64DS3D will be a mouthful. :P

I'm not convinced the slide-pad would work well with the Mario 64 DS. I mean the game wasn't designed to work with one. Wouldn't the slide pad just have the d-pad mapped to it? I'm assuming you'd still only be able to go 8 directions and need to use the run button.Meinhard1Yeah, the slide pad isn't particularly functional for any DS game, really (and the dpad is in the worst position imaginable), it's just mimicking digital inputs. They could dump the game up on the Eshop and add in proper analog support, though. But they won't (if they do, it'll be a $40 retail release).
