Put down your torches and pitchforks for a second and let's talk...

I've never felt like making a topic before. In fact, if you look at my stats, I don't really post a lot. Yet in the past 24 hours, I've seen such a decay in the morale of the Nintendo fan I feel compelled to say something.

We knew last year that this E3 was going to be different, yet many of you apparently forgot that and were expecting the press conferences to be like last year. E3 is NEVER going to be about the fans again. There is no need for booth babes, verbal dissing, and over-the-top floor shows. We also knew Wii Fit was coming, and we've known for a while, though it was called Wii Health in those days. I know many of you don't consider it a game, but there are definitely game elements, such as leaning to bounce the soccer ball on your head.

What I fail to see is how this signifies that Nintendo is screwing you over. If you're a Nintendo fan, you likely enjoy Mario games. You also probably like Metroid Prime and Smash Brothers. These are three HUGE franchises, and in North America we're getting them all this year. How can you not be stoked about it? Wii Fit is not the end of the world, nor is it the first fitness game. Xbox and PS2 had Yourself Fitness, and life as we know it didn't cease. Plus, there are HUNDREDS of Wii games coming. You're bound to find something you like.

So, really, why are you worried? I've been gaming for 26 years now (and I'm female), and the sky has never been more blue.

Suprises were Mario Kart Wii(even we knew it was coming but we didnt know when or if it would be online)

The Zapper andother FPS thatuse it.Medal of Honor online 32 players will be a pretty awesome thing with the Wii even if the graphics arent superior.

And the Wii Balance Board, I think alot of people think that its for this Wii Fitness game.. But I see it as another innovation that will immurge you into more games.

well i dont really like wii fit, and the zapper and wii wheel seem kinda gimmicky, but as long as the games dont require them then im fine with it. im kinda glad they didnt release any info on new games, theres already too much coming out this year and money doesnt grow on trees.

They need to make a Wiiboard (Keyboard) and a Headset. Maybe they'll suprise us later in the day...they have something coming up on GS

They need to make a Wiiboard (Keayboard) or Wii Headset.

Well said, y2kzorak. I think there's just the typical E3 hysteria that gets whipped up because of the show, with people forgetting it isn't and won't be what it used to be. But I know I was a bit disappointed with the lack of details so far from the show, Nintendo and otherwise. However, I got the info I was looking for in the release dates of Galaxy and Brawl, plus the confirmation of Mario Kart Online. I know my girlfriend is still kicking herself over not picking up her own Wii when she had the chance, now that WiiFit was announced. She does yoga twice a week and loves the idea.

What you need to remember is this is primarily a "hardcore" gaming site. There's always going to be the vocal minority whining and moaning over perceived shortcomings and disappointments. Its really nothing new. I personally am looking forward to the variety of titles coming to the Wii, as opposed to the major titles for Sony. They look like good titles, but they just seem to be clones of themselves, I need strong variety. Anyway, my opinion, not trying bashing the PS3.

The other thing is the age of the gamers posting here. I think you and I are in the great minority of being somewhat older gamers comparatively (30 next month).

If the negativity continues for a while, then there may be cause for some concern, but the Wii has some good stuff coming. Its the only one of the three new systems that interests me as I still play my PS2, PC, DS and Gamecube games. The Wii is going to do just fine in general, whether the so-called "hardcore" gamers think so or not.

Wii fit obviously appeals to people, because theres so many different people that have Wii's. Even if the game doesn't look like anything I could get, the board looks more than enough to make up for it.

What can i say... The Wii hasnt been out for a year and they are already running out of ideas. Simple machine has its limites, i guess its time for the Wii Advancepinchimocote

I dont see how you can come to the Wii baords and say that. Telling you to like all of the systems and what they offer would probably be too much to ask for a person like you, eh?

But yeah theres alot of things coming out for all 3 systems, get over it and play them all.

I agree me too. Sure I would liked to have more surprises but hey, Fire Emblem, Mario. Metroid, Batallion Wars all in the same year. Wii Fit is for the mainstream and I'm not interested by that, but look all the other games. Wait the tokyo game show and the others for more surprises.

Ugh... actually think about the conference before posting, They didnt show many game at the e3 cause they didnt feel the need to, By the holiday season they are going to have 140 more wii games. Sony on the other hand had to show the games, cause otherwise they were screwed.

No! Nintendo hasn't run out of ideas. Do you see the little hole where you plug in the Nunchuck and the Classic Controller? Nintendo has endless possibilities with that little thing. If Nintendo would let 3rd Party Publisher make different things that would plug into the bottom of the Wii Remote the Wii would be exceeding with new ideas. So don't be so quick to judge.

Maybe you should think about whats best for you, not nintendo. i don't give a crap how many units they sold to old poeple and gamerphobic women, i care about what games they are bothering to release and of those 140 they didn't speak about any of them(ie. not good games).Sony has showed games every year at E3 worth paying attention to, now that your mentioning Sony.

They're getting a couple good games. But the main problem I have with it is that so many 3rd party "E+" titles that coming out for BOTH PS3 and 360 (meaning NOT exclusive) are not coming out for Wii. That means as a Wii owner, I'll be missing out on tons of casual+ titles that I like while if I was a 360 or PS3 owner I'd not have to. Quite simply, if you're anything more than casual, the library for you as a Wii owner is severly more limited than if you were a 360 owner.

mario kart is 2008 anywhere

and the rest haven't been dated for UK, but it's not normal for it to take over 3-4 months at most, for a game to get here from america, super paper mario is a very large exception, which will be here september anyway.

anyways I haven't exactly lost moral, dunno why people get angry, they are still getting WAY more info than they normally would

Hmm but how do you know those games arent any good? You have yet to see them or even seen gameplay. But you know sony for a fact showed us that many games because of their sales. EVERYONE knows that. It was the longest conference..... isnt that telling you something?

I agree. Nintendo made a smart move, just not many ppl appreciate it because they are just thinking about themselves.
