So I buy Spirit Camera today and later when I open it I then decide to check out the reviews for it and they are not good...I am just hoping some cognitive dissonance can come into play here.

Don't always trust reviews, The 3rd Birthday and DemiKids got scores in 6.0 and they are among my favourite games (maybe I just have bad taste :P ). You should trust player reviews more than critic reviews. So I buy Spirit Camera today and later when I open it I then decide to check out the reviews for it and they are not good...I am just hoping some cognitive dissonance can come into play here.

Oh well, it's new, try it out yourself :PThe only two player reviews I see on here are a 4.5 and a 6.

I usually look at user reviews and read the negative ones so I know what flaws there are with the game. If I think they'll get in the way of my enjoyment I avoid it. If not I get it.
I understand, I hate it when that happens especially to me. I bought a game called C.O.R.E., everybody gave it low scores, but it was up there in one of the best FPS games I've ever played. So I buy Spirit Camera today and later when I open it I then decide to check out the reviews for it and they are not good...I am just hoping some cognitive dissonance can come into play here.

guys, don't you think reviews here are too biased? shouldn't a 5/10 be average not mediocre instead 6 is just fair where it supposed to be above average and a grade of 4.5 means its below average not poor
[QUOTE="famicommander"]Reading reviews is probably the worst way you could possibly become informed about a game.Raiko101It's better than just noting a load of scores. I meant that in the context of using professional review sources to any degree. Game journalism is one of the most corrupt and most elitist industries in the entire world.

There are a number of journalists who write for multiple sites, sometimes with different names, and you can that they're giving genuine and honest impressions.
