as i recall, Reggie (Or someone else high up like iwata) said that they where making seven different wiimakes right now. We currently know three: Pikmen, Metroid prime 1, and Metroid prime 2. What are you're thoughts on the other four? Here's mine.

First of all, if they're making pikmen one then their probably making pikmen 2, so that leaves three wiimakes. Now, i think Nintendo has wizened up since Super Mario Stadium, and won't wiimake any more sports games, especially now that the new series all-play is doing so well. But if they were wiimaking sports, i would have to guess golf and tennis, with the last spot open for something else. The last spot would most likely be occupied by luigi's mansion. If they don't make anymore sport wiimakes, then that leaves two open spaces. What occupies these, i can't be sure.

So far, they announced remakes of Metroid Prime 1 & 2: Echoes, Pikmin(probably Pikmin 2 as well), and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Maybe the rest are Zelda: Wind Waker and Super Mario Sunshine. I want Starfox Adventures but that's from Rare so I doubt we're getting that.

- Mario Power Tennis
- Metroid Prime 1
- Metroid Prime 2 (ew)
- Pikmin
- Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

As for the others I'm guessing 1080 for GC (I dont remember the name of the game), Wind Waker and Pikmin 2.

OK, ive had enough of the remakes. I want new games. I've play the Prime triology, it is awesome. So leave it as that. Make a new metriod, a 2-d or even a 4th prime, i dont care, just make new games. No one wants to play remakes of Sunshine, most of us try to forget that game is evena mario game. id rather see a SMG-2. ENOUGH REMAKES. Make new games. I will probably not get another Nintendo console if they dont make atleast a actuall Zelda for the Wii. I love my system to death, but im tired of all the port/remakes. Dont remake Windwaker, OOT, or Mask, JUST MAKE A NEW ZELDA. THAT IS WHAT WE WANT, we wait years for the game, dont make us wait for that long and only give us Mario Sunshine with the Wiimote.

yea... nobody asked what you think of the wiimakes. personally we're all sick of whiners, so you can take that to your blog. if you have something valuable to add to this discussion then please do so, but if not you can leave

Amen

The idea that we should be happy with 2 new games and 7 old games is just beyond me.

Nintendo has stated that they didn't make enough money on these titles and the only reason they're making them is to make the money they thought they would have made the first time they were released.

That part is disturbing.

If you don't sell a new game well then make another game and try to better it's sales.

Nintendo has forsaken that idea instead pulling out games as old as 2001 trying to make money they lost last gen.

In a way they're making the consumers pay for their own faults last gen. The Gamecube sold so poorly that it's software never got into enough homes. Instead of Nintendo seeing where they lost last gen and changing it around they're happier handing Wi owners the bill.

It's a sad, sad day

I would probably assume maybe an F-zero GX and WW... seeming those are the only two that are in my GC collection that I care about that aren't already getting a Wii-make.

Wow. 2 whole years, how tragic. Guess how long I have waited for a kirby game, about 7 years. Say that around an earthbound fan and then that would really make them mad. I want good games as much as the next guy, but zelda is not the only good game out there

I have a theory or assumption of sorts... Will porting all these games to the Wii give Nintendo a reason not to make beefed up sequels on the Wii. For instance, Mario Tennis, we've - or at least I have - been wanting a new Mario Tennis game to come out for the Wii, but with this cube-on-wii thing they're doing we may get Power Tennis from the Cube and Nintendo will think that'll hold us off until they decide to get to work on the next one. We've been clamoring for a new Donkey Kong game so they sorta give one to us We've been goading for the Wiimote's precision pointing on a Pikmin game - they give us Pikmin 1 Where's the Metroid series gonna go now? Backwards it looks like because we have MP1 and MP2 to hold us off Want a new Zelda? Get read for the awesome new cel shaded adventure for Wii!!! Galaxy was too easy huh? Got a little dazed with all the flippy worlds did ya? Here, play Sunshine. Luigi's Mansion!! It'd be liek sooo purfect for teh Wii with the flashlyte and what not! Well Nintendo can just port the damn game now!! As Jaysonguy has stressed in many topics before this one... Nintendo is handing us the past when we should be getting the future. That's what I signed up for when I bought the Wii. Now we're gonna relive Nintendo's worst generation with waggle. C'mon Nintendo :?

the only one of those i would be interested in is pikmin. I just love that series so much i would mind playing those games again, and I know that there could some great pointer action integrated into the game, as well as some motion sensing.

I want a real sequel though

The cost of porting a cube game to the Wii, even with added Wiimote functionality, is insignificant compared to the cost of developing new games for Wii, and it takes only a tenth of the manpower as well. No one said Nintendo is bringing remakes instead of new games. Or maybe they did? maybe I just missed that announcement? Somebody show me where nintendo states that bringing remakes to the Wii is at the expense of new games please.

I get bored with remake whiners, remakes or ports are an addition to a console, not a replacement of new games, something extra. It takes 1 guy to port a game for every 100 it takes to make a new game.

I'd gladely buy Gamecube Remakes, considering I missed out on the GC,
Heck, Throw in a couple of N64 games aswell, They dont need a remake, but A Wii version of Pokemon Stadium1/2 would make me CHEER. (and dont say buy Pokemon Battle Rev, I liked Stadium 1/2 for the minigames)

I HOPE Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's mansion makes the remake list, Glad Pikmen is on there,
The 3 games I wanted!

yeah...many people actually missed out on the GC.

having these remakes actually make people aware that these games existed before. let's be honest, how many wii owners even know they can play gamecube games on their wii?

making these remakes is a good way to make people know that these games existed. and they get updated visuals and controls specifically for the controller of wii too (so people wouldn't really be REQUIRED to buy gamecube controllers).

Im yet to buy a GC remote for my Wii, But I picked up Luigi's Mansion, StarFox Command and LOZ: WindWaker (Special Edition with extra disc) for $10 the lot fully working condition,
I borrowed a control and played them and I can gladely say Luigi's Mansion is by far one of the BEST games I have played by Nintendo, I would shell out $90 (AUS) for a version with Updated visuals and an extra ghost, because it was so great.

I really don't see the added value in wiimakes but I'm not upset they are doing them. I do wish that they would offer patches for my GC games to be properly displayed in 16:9 format. That will never happen though.

What is wrong with remakes? So you beat the game, good for you, don't go and buy it. The Gamecube was a very fun system but not very well accepted in the gaming community. However, there were a lot of games that were on that system that didn't get as much play as they should have. Also, if they are going to go and make remakes of the 1st and 2nd Metroids, cool. This will be nice, if they are smart about it, that you can buy a video game trilogy at retail and not have to buy all three separate. I would love to have all of the Resident Evil games readily available with motion controls. Those games are easy to find if you want to spend over 100$ and thats for the Cube versions. There is a lot of sense to doing what they are doing. Not only for the games but as a business, they need to make money. With the worlds economy at at a breaking point why should they be investing billions of dollars into making new games. They already have templates for the remakes, they can make them better and save some money until the storm has passed. Stop complaining about remakes. If you don't like it, get out there and start making some games. If you don't want to do that then shut up and play.

That would be nice, although the Wii could never do that as it literally turns into a Gamecube while playing GC games and can't do any extra functionality (not to mention it doesn't have enough storage space to install any patches). The 360 and PS3 don't even do that for their 4:3 backwards compatible games either, there's no way Nintendo would ever do it, they are way to lazy.
