The weirdest thing happened to me today

I was at the wii menu and the slot light was glowing blue. I was like wtf? I turned off the wii and the light turned off.

I'm glad you mentioned this because it happened to me as well and like you I said W T F ???!!!  It was in the middle of the night for me.  I woke up with my bedroom all glowing blue, I sat up and the disc slot on my WII was glowing and not only glowing but it would get REALLY bright then really dim.  And heck yeah it is only supposed to be read by them when the machine is turned on and you are connected to your router.  That was the first thing I checked. the power light was amber meaning OFF!  Green is on.  I didn't know what was going on.  So I hit the power button a couple of times and it stopped.  I haven't had it happen since.  I mean, if Nintendo has access to our WII's even when they are turned off why do we even have to bother connecting at all?  It was strange and I would love to hear if anyone else has experienced it.  At least now I know it wasn't a ghost!!!
