I'm tired of developers cashing in on the Wii with action games while systems like the X box 360 get amazing ones. Some developer, I don't care who, needs to make just a fun and enjoyable action game. I mean, I've got an idea for one, to bad, unless I get really lucky, It'll never come to be. So, what I'm saying is that developers need to stop cutting corners or adding boring/ frustrating parts or just making terrible games, you know what I mean. This game shouldn't be able to be beaten in one day, either. It should be an epic game with a halfway decent story line and intereting characters. It doesn't have to be bloody, either. It just needs to be fun. I think a 3rd Viewtiful Joe would do the trick, imagine the possibilitys... So, what do you guys think? While we're on this subject, what do you think makes a great action game?
I'm talking third person. Those games were fun, though. But I'm talking third person pure action games. That actually run for a good while, you can't beat them in 2 days. I know MP3 was long, but The Conduit wasn't.
You couldn't be more vague. An "action game" could literally mean anything. Care to elaborate? What is "action" to you? Because by definition, right now there are dozens of Wii games that fit that category.
Nintendo should make a Wii Action where you play as your Mii and fight other Miis, or mabye Mii animals, or some new Mii type character. That would be awesome.
no more heroes and madworld (its price has been cut, so i dont see why anybody would care about its length) were great. we're getting no more heroes 2 soon too.
I know what your saying, Wii does lack games that really say "bad as". Think he's saying more along the lines of Prototype and Arkham Asylum umcommon
Its tought to compete againts a license game, but I would say Jack or Travis could stand up to Alex Mercer any day of the week. And with Travis coming back in a few months in NMH2, dual weilding and all, he will only further cement that.
This would fit in to what he is asking for, but it looks terrible to me.
I have to disagree, Spyborgs is alot like The Conduit, it looks like a game that is solidly put togther, the basic gameplay mechanics of the genre are well established. However like The Conduit, its lacks a hook that really sets it apart as a game that must be played.
I'm pretty sure No More Heroes is the most fun ANY action game can get, and it also has epic story, epic characters, and epic humor. It fits the bill. What more could you want? (except less boring side-jobs. NMH2 is fixing that though with awesome 2-d ones instead).
i don't play third parties. Nintendo should be making epic games for their console. But pathetically they don't. Compare this with sony and they are looking after their conole so well even though it is third. yes we need an action game, but i doubt it will come. But one can dream.

Not really Action games are mainly games like Madworld, No More Heroes, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Ninja Gaiden. You know its funny they just did a piece on IGN about must have action titles and they said(and I agree with them) that pretty much anything can be lumped into the action genre. I mean is racing around a track at 200mph not action? Is shooting a bunch of aliens on a derelict ship not action? Is combing through dungeons fighting huge bosses not action? Is running around planets, swimming, fighting large dinosaurs not action? Shooting zombies, playing football, etc etc technically is all action. The games you mentioned are beat em ups and hack n slash, which is a sub category under action.
