The World Ends With You - Thoughts?

Well, ive got the game now and im pretty impressed. I'm not much of a RPG fan since Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings (i think that was the right number) but this game caught my interest. the artistic graphics make the game for fun and alive. the combat system is great and pretty unique/new. First i thought when this game was announced i was like "wtf? Another crappy ds gimmick rpgs. pff screw this.'' but no. This one is different, i really like the writing font in the game! It makes it that nice graffiti kinda look! Well, that was my thought of the game and i like it so far. Im not really far into the game but ill deal with it. Pretty fun game if you ask me. So lets hear your thoughts about the new game from square cinx "The World Ends With You" For the Nintendo DS. By the way, the review came out and it turns out the game gets a 9.0!!! Great job for a first franchise.

The Good:

• Innovative combat system that can be easily tailored to suit
• Compelling story with some genuinely heartfelt moments
• Makes full use of all of the DS's technical capabilities
• Top-notch presentation
• Awesome soundtrack.

The Bad:

• Some pin powers get mixed up in the execution
• Only one save game per cartridge.

I'm liking it in terms of the gameplay.

The story hasn't hooked me yet, though, I'm waiting for Neku to stop being such a whiny jerk.

The game is longer than it seems because after 7 days, there are more chapters with 7 days within them....

I'm only on Chapter 1 Day 2 but loving it so far. And you might find this hard to believe but it's my first Square Enix game!

My thoughts?

Too expensive and too short to justify the purchase.

I am going to buy it today

Im not sure how long it took me to play through the game, but it was probably around 20 or more hours. I have beat the main part of the game, but after that a new day is unlocked (it has nothing to do with the orignal storyline) and you unlock the ability to play through any day over again (and you get to keep all of your stats, pins, and items you obtaind to use in any day). When replaying a day, if you complete a certain goal, you unlock a secret. After unlocking the secret from every day, a new secret chapter or something is unlocked. So you kinda need to play through the game twice to unlock everything, so this game could take up to 40 or more hours to fully complete.

Can't wait to see the secret. All I know is that I have a space still locked on my phone menu, and the game is up to 4 players, so Im thinking the secret is that you unlock the ability to play Tin Pin Slammer on WiFi.

is it one of those games that after you beat it you put it on ur shelf? or can u keep working at it?

and I REALLLLLLLY want to get this game but i can't find where to buy it! nobody is selling it!! anyone else having this problem?

I never rly like Square's games...idk it looks interesting.

I like Rpg's but doesnt look very appealing to me. Ill play it at my friends house, then maybe get it.

I don't have the money yet and just made a big mistake buying FF3 so I'm very cautious to buy a new game.

The World.. seems interesting, but it indeed seems like a love it or hate it game. It might be a very good game, technically speaking, but I don't really know if I'll enjoy it when I play it. Might check it out once.

Ok, so thanks to BioSpark, I relized that it took me 15 hours to beat the main storyline. After that, I still play the game. I have played for about 2 hours after beating the main part. I dont think this is a game anyone would put down after beating the main part, but you would surley play less of it. I wont be putting this down until I unlock the secret thing.

Same here, i cant keep track of both screens at once. But does anyone how to beat wolf thing in Chapter 1 day 2 where the statue becomes alive after u polish it? I'm just a noob in these games so im guessing this part was aced by many people.:PChiddaPotta

That actually took me two-three tries tries. Try equipping the thunderbolt pin, and the energyball one (the one that lets you shot rapid fire balls of energy) sorry I don't know what the exact names our.

Man seriously don't be like that, honestly. Just get it, you'll be glad you did. This is not a game you can afford to miss out on, especially if your reasoning is that it costs $5 more than you are willing to pay. You can't even buy a good sandwich for $5 nowadays. This game is worth it, trust me on this.

First Impressions: Music is awesome, graphics are pretty sweet, and the battles are cool although I would expect something more unique than frogs
