Did any one else thing the game The world ends with you was overated?

I liked the ending and some of the music, and yeah, i didn't think it was as amazing a game as other people thought. Strange, because the game seems to support

Not following trends and fads that everyone else is following, like it talks about conforming and thinking like everyone else, if you get what i mean. I mean everybody seems to like the game, but i am one of the few who didn't feel it was that fantastic.

Battle system got really repetitive, but the story was really good - only reason why I finished the game.

I wouldn't call it overrated. The only thing you really can't like about this game is the battle system (which isn't bad, it's just that you fight battles all the same way)

I really enjoyed it, so no.

I loved it. A very original JRPG which are often rare.

I think it was fantastic, and one of the best games on the DS. Much better than a lot of the other trash. Now, is it the best thing ever? Of course not, but it was very entertaining to me, and have been waiting 2 years now for them to announce it's much expected sequel.

nice music, great gameplay, great story, great length for a DS game, great visuals... it's a damn awesome game, but many people treat it like the second coming of christ, so i guess so.BrunoBRS

i dont think so there has never been a game like that everything about it is unique and we rarely see unique rpgs especaily on the ds

I don't know what got to me when I played this game, but I feel in love with it. The feel and everything really appealed to me, and I've played many FFs, Pokemon and some Mario RPGs. I guess this was a fresh change of pace.

Uhm, yeah, tbh I did.

Yeah I thought it was extremely overrated, although to be fair I didn't really give the game a good go yet (I started and played for 1-2 hours, got bored and haven't played since). So yeah but from what I played I don't know why its considered the best game on DS by many people. Seems to get loads of praise just for being original which IMO is not really a trait that makes a game great.

tbh i didnt even see the reviews. its one of the rpgs i enjoyed the most in the last 5 years

I bought it in the fall of last year, and the beginning was okay, but I was very disappointed. It was not even close to what everyone said it was.

Not really while other games are strongly overrated example Call of Duty is extremely overrated. I like The World Ends with You it's something different from other games I thought it was better then most of the Final Fantasy games. I thought the characters in The World Ends with You were interesting I'm not a big RPG fan but that game was pretty fun.

Well, if you put it this way, you'll always havethe "nays" or the "mehs"for any game in existance and the TWEWY seems to have mostly good responses and reviews and such. It depends what you've expected out of thie game or how your likes compare to other RPGs.

Over-rated? Maybe just a little, but not like other things I've seen! I bought this game by the suggestion of a friend and I really did enjoy it. To those saying the battle system is repetitive. I'd only disagree because I've tried numerous different pin combinations and it's different every time I battle. Of course, there really isn't too much to think about when battle. It's normally just 'slash, slash, tap, tap, tap, slash, drag, hold, tap'.

In terms of the story line and characters. I think the story line was your average RPG storyline, but the characters were likeable, of course you'd have your likeable and unlikeable characters, but it all evened out. And the cutscenes were fun to watch.
The amount of extras made for some good continual play. Though I didn't like having to constantly replay days to get everything.

The rating it's been given definately fits the game.

It's a VERY good game, with good soundtrack, good gameplay, it's innovative, and with a amazing plot. It was the game that I enjoyed the most since I've got the DS, not counting Hotel Dusk.

Even then, people tend to say that it's "Tha Best Game EVEEER", and that's not true.

I sometimes replay the 1st day just to see the opening cutscene. :P

IMO, TWEWY is an awesome game, one of my top DS games, but it CAN be too overrated. It still deserves the 9.0.

Ugh. People need to learned that just because something is really popular, it doesn't mean it's overrated.

TWEWY is a great game, it deserves that title. There's not a thousand people going around saying it's all they'l every play, it's the only good game on the DS, it's soooooo awesome that everyone needs to stop playing Pokemon and start playing TWEWY nonstop, is there? I only see it getting mentioned on the recommendation thread, and on threads asking for explainations of the secret ending. Lots love it, some don't.

So guys, underated/overated fiasco's aside. Does anyone think there will be info on the sequel anytime soon? It has been 2 years, but knowing my Square Enix, we will probably have to wait 6 years until a sequel and it will be exclusive until the last minute and then fall apart in production. *Thinks of Kingdom Hearts games, and FFXIII Versus* I guess I will be waiting even longer. :(

Considering that it came from Square Enix, who kept pumping out FF remakes at the time and little else, TWEWY was a breath of fresh air. So no, I don't think it's overrated. Also, it's unlikely that a sequel is coming, so the game will remain as a standout DS title.

It's one of the hollow bastions on the ds. After you wade through crap loads of pokemon games and little kids games, you find this ray of hope and everything feels better.

It was a great game. But it was a game that I knew I would only play once through. IMO at times it was brilliant, different and a fresh, but there were moments where I was annoyed and turned off by it's repetitive gameplay. Story was amazing, but the fighting even with the abundance of badges got old quick.

Battle system got really repetitive, but the story was really good - only reason why I finished the game.

This game had a bad combat system,controlling 2 people at once is a spamfest.Oh and it would keep on nit picking wanting me to draw a perfect circle.
