Alot of poeple I know call the wii "little kiddy". Now I understand not every one hates the wii, but I also understand many people do. I get that the wii apeals more to the casual audience, but alot of people give me crap because I don't play call of duty. It seems like the world hates the wii:cry: anyone agree it seems like that?:)

Hi I don't know you remember me, well let me repost this:

The Wii does get alot of hate for many reasons:

1.) Nintendo has been citicized because the vast majority of the games are kiddish.

2.) There is hardly much support on quality games from third parties, which people look at it as "don't bother paying attention to them". Look at Capcom, I believe the newests game they had on the Wii were Tatsunoko Vs Cpacom and Monster Hunter Tri.

3.) Because of their image of having kiddish games, the older demographic believe they are too old for those kind of games and they have to move on to games and consoles that are "mature", better quality, and "HARDCORE".

4.) Most of the time, the stories of the big franchise games like Mario and Zelda are just rehashed story. I mean look at Mario, how many times does he have to save the Princess.

5.) Another factor is the control mechanic that most videogamers get discouraged. They believe that motion controls are stupid and it will never catch on.

Now I have a couple of things to say about those reasons:

1.) Blood and gore does not make a game or a mature game for that matter.

2.) You know who's fault it is, you the gamer. You guys are too insecure of buying games that are different. Why the heck do you buy every Call of Duty that comes out?

3.)Oh don't get me started with Hardcore, if you people claim to be hardcore look at your game library and your save data. if you collection/data consist of mostly FPS, Fighting games, and/or Sports, you are not "HARDCORE", you are a 'COMPETETIVE" player. If you were a hardcore gamer you would have games like these: Hyperdimension Neptunia, Loco Roco, Monster Rancher, Little Big Planet, and Professor Layton, just to name a few, and you would play them equally and enjoy them with great love.

4.) Okay, how many more types of guns do you need do you need in a Call of Duty game?

5.) OMG, it is submersive playing!!! It's the next step in playing videogames. Do you honestly think huddling yourself with a control is the same way if you were holding a gun or a sword? NO. When I play Zelda on the Wii, I have so much thrill of swinging my control then pressing a button just to attack.

So yeah I believe people should not be hating Nintendo or the Wii, they should be ashamed of theirselves of their biggotry towards any game/system.

Also I want to add, that the Wii is the only true system that you can play with anyone in the same household.

There are some Wii fans that are upset that now they are releasing the good games on the Wii when it's time is running out.

I like my Wii, but it's very much a supplemental system to my other consoles given it's relatively archaic tech and over reliance on motion controls.

The Wii doesn't get hate because of "kiddy" appeal. Most, probably all, of Nintendo's IPs can and are enjoyed just as much by adults as they are by children. It's criticized because of its weak hardware, its bare bones online, and lack of multiplats.

It's by far the best selling console of this gen. There have been dry spells in the system's life where I was disappointed with it (to the point of selling my first one), but it had some great 1st party titles and and coming to a good finish thanks to the releases of Xenoblade and the upcoming Last Story. One thing I particularly liked about the system is how it had so many retro-style games like DKCR, NSMB and Punch-Out.

95 million units, and the most-selling console of the seventh generation as of yet. I wouldn't say the world hates the Wii. Maybe you hear a lot from Xbox owners? :P Anyway, I think it's because it relied a lot on novelties and it seemed every other game required a special molded plastic to fit the Wiimote into it, but there were a lot of good games for it and overall it's a cool console :)

Yeah wii is fun to try, You really have to try it out to get the exterior doubt out. I mean that don't look at it and be in the gossip that it doesn't work as a gaming console. You'll really have to try it yourself to see how much it can do. Then Bbe a believer that its a fun machine to own.

I actually find that the Wii isn't much for a"casual" gamer. If anything, it retains the gameplay experience of the 6th gen with some exceptions. There's a difference between casual and actual gameplay.

Anyway, I was a huge Gamecube fan and at this moment I own well over a 100 games (If I'm right, about 130), but during it's run, I've dealt with the Sony fanboyism and I'll be the first to tell you it was a craptastic feeling. Some of my friends were Sony fanboys, and just to hear them discredit the Gamecube and call it "graphically weak" or pitch a fit during an actual comparison was quite an experience. Although I owned an N64 before, it was one of those Nintendo consoles I wasn't into unless I played wrestling games. Of course, there was the ol' SNES/Genesis dys- but in all fairness, I could deal with fanboyism alot more in those days than I can during the Wii's current run.

The fanboyism I refuse to deal with are as follows-

1. Wii fanboys who defend the Wii whilst only owning/playing a Wii, thus discrediting any fair opinion given by a "rival gamer".

2. Xbox360/PS3 gamers who've not played/owned a Wii but have an opinion on it.

(Or any console for that matter)

During the SNES' run- "Genesis has blood in MK...this version's better" and of course SNES was even at that time painted the "kiddy console" in comparison to Genesis' "hardcore feeling".

My response- "I suppose noone's played Weaponlord, any of the MK titles after MK1 on the SNES" Interesting. My Snes had DKC and Killer Instinct.

N64 was also labeled kiddy. But it had "Mace- the Dark Age" which is still one of the bloodiest and goriest games to date.

Gamecube as well, although the Cube has many M-rated games/violent titles. Now Wii trots along...

The problem is, gamers will pick their console and more than most the time will pick their "one console" that has to be better than every console. I wouldn't feel bad about the fact that gamers aren't truly gamers and are more likely to judge a console based on sells, what everyone else is playing and what they're truly missing. The Wii's a unique console with lots to offer as is the case with any console.

This coming from a person who owns Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox1, Xbox360, Wii and a Saturn.
