It actually looks like it carried over pretty well to the DS. Unfortunately, they had to axe some of the features of the original, and I already own it.. and have for many, many years. I wish they could have made a brand new management simulation that has that kind of gameplay instead. However, if you're too young to have played the game in its full, original incarnation, or just never got to it, it looks like it may be fun. What kind of features have been axed? I'm guessing the restocking screen? I didn't really feel that was necessary to the game anyway.

Im not pickin this up. Looks like roller coaster tycoon which i didnt like to much. And graphics are like GBA ( i usually dont judge games by graphics but these....come on... )bobstrifeFirst of all, Theme Park has better graphics than any GBA game. Second of all, you're admitting you can't play games like Castlevania or Phoenix Wright or Lunar Knights because of their GBA-like graphics? Go back to PSP if graphics mean so much to you.
Lower than expected? lol I think its actually quite generous. A lot of those Sim games attempted by companies are relatively horrible.hiho24No it's a port of the all-time classic Bullfrog game 'Theme Park' that hit PCs in 1994 and PS1 and others in 1995.

Anyone know what SimCity's rating got? and if it's coming to the US? But ya 7.5 is not too bad of a score but imma wait until i read gamespot's and game informer's reviews because if they also complain about the sound and lasting appeal.. I might have to wait for a price drop. -supercharged-It's only out in Japan at the minute and in Famistu Magazine it got 31/40. Thats about a 7.8 score in GameSpot terms but we know the opinions of Famitsu and Gamespot are likely to differ anyway.

Well, I just got the call that my reservation came in so I'm going to pick it up here in about 2 hours and I'll let you guys know how it works out.
Okay..... Well, I picked my copy up around 1:00, put in about 2 and a half hours or so and I must say that it's exactly the same as I remember it. I would give it at least an 8.5 regardless of the fact that it's a re-hash of a game that's over a decade old. I'm loving it personally. It definitely does the original justice.
This game is a total must-buy for anybody that is a fan of the original.
Do you still get the little videos when you preview rides or has that been taken out?Okay..... Those have actually been taken out. It'd be nice if they had them, but it definitely doesn't take away from the gameplay at all. There is, however, a nice little intro video though.
I think by the end of the night I had put in at least 9 hours. I was saying over on the Theme Park forum that my wife basically had to pry my DS out of my hands just to get me to eat dinner last night because I was so in the zone, which rarely ever happens when I buy a new game. lol.
