They called that a review?

Im sorry, im normally not one to complain on bad reviews, the rating, or whatever, but the review i just read for SSBB might have been one of the worst reviews i have ever read. When i look at a review i want to know the goods and bads for the game. Obviously the game dosnt have many bads considereing it got a 9.5, but tell us what is good. The whole review he is just talking about super smash bros and how to play it. If you dont know what super smash bros is you shouldnt even be playing games. The whole video review i was waiting for him to talk about what he though about the game, but he just kept on telling me details on how the game works. I know if you have a high percentage that you get knocked off easier. All im saying is that i am a rare contributer to these forms now, and i was so displeased i wanted to see all of your reactions, or if im just overexagerating (SP) the review. And one more thing, ive never seen that guy in my life at gamespot.

Really? I thought the review wasn't that bad. Then look at IGN's video review of the game.

I liked igns review of the game. First off i knew bozon, one of the main guys at ign, and it seemed they just went through and told the good and bad. Maybe this guy who did the review at gamespot is big, idk, like i said i dont go here much anymore.

I thought their review was fine. It gave me all the info I wanted to know and I thought it was pretty interest to read. People need to stop complaining about how they're doing bad. If you don't like them than go to IGN. Keep up the good work Gamespot.

im not complaining that gamepost is doing bad? im just saying i thought that review was weaker than the rest of their reviews, and on one of the biggest games of the season.

Yep, it was more a "about the game" review than a real "what's good/what sucks" review.

After GameSpot's Fire Emblem and Days of Ruin reviews and 1Up's Trauma Center: New Blood review, this was gold in comparison.

Or this was a "Don't fire me CNET" review.

I thought the video review was alright, but I had already read "The Good" and "The Bad" on the review page, so I know what he liked and didn't like, the likes being the wealth of game options and the dislikes being some of the plaforming in the Subspace Emissary mode and the fact that you can't take user-made stages online.

A pretty good review, though I found 1up's so far to be the most honest. Basically, the reviewer said that if you love Nintendo this is the best game ever, but if you're a GTA/Halo type guy, you might like it...you might not. He gave it an "A". That sparked my interest to go to Game Rankings and see how the game was fairing: so far, there hasn't been any review that's dipped below a 90%, which is pretty cool.

The entire first page was dedicated to what the game was. Then second page (which wasn't a whole page btw) was mostly new stuff, but I think they still had some of the "What is SSB" in the top. I'm not complaining about the score and I already knew there wasn't much wrong with the game, but if they just said the good and the bad it would've been like "we already knew all of that!" Overall, not a horrible review, but it was mostly just explaining what it was and not saying the good and bad.

There are millions of Wii's out there and I'm sure most of the owners havn't played Smash Bros. A review like that is necessary to explain to people who haven't played the game what it is and give them a better idea on if they'll like it or not.

I think all the people complaining about the review know and like Smash Bros so I don't think you need a review to tell you to go get it.

Funny you should mention poor reviews, this review and Fire Emblem all in the same sentence...

They all have something in common...

Look who did the reviews for Brawl and Fire Emblem...

It's no lark..

...actually, wait! It is!

Yea, throughout the whole video review he just kept going on about different things you can do, I don't think he named single pro or con in the video. lmao
