Hello,

For awhile now ive been waiting to get a Wii but ive had some concerns. Now that i have found on at my local retail store(which is on hold for a couple days). How does the controls work? Which games are good ones to start off with? What is the nunnchuck control do and is it worth buying? I was thinking of buying MP3,Resident Evil, and Zelda to start off. Some of my friends regret getting the Wii some say its the best purchase they made. I played the Wii once had trouble getting used to the controls. I really love metroid games thats the reason i want to get a Wii but im concerned about the controls. Any advice would be nice im making my decision. Thank You

anyone's gonna tell you it's worth it. you're in the Wii forum. If the store is holding it for you, buy it. The games you mentioned are great picks to start with. The nunchuck is a requirement for a lot of games. Don't you have a gamestop nearby that has a Wii display you can play? If nowhere else, that would give you a bearing on how the system controls. You mentioned you have friend with Wiis (heh, never gets old). Can't you play over there?

It may take you a while to get use to the controls but keep playing. Alot of the bad reviews you read about Wii games having bad controls were more than likely written by someone who was over-confident in their ability to pick up the controls right off the bad and when they couldn't, they said that the control system was broken when in reality, they didn't play the game enough.

To sum up, if you've shown enough interest in the system to not only stake out a retailer, wait for the system to become available, request for it to be held and post online saying that you want one, I think you'll find it money well spent. Have fun!

Later,

Dave

Go for it boi! But let me tell you something: If you think you are going to buy The Legend of Zelda TP , Metroid Prime 3 and Resident Evil 4 to start off then you woll never get off the wii.

Those games you mentioned are the best ones available so far and are great. Super Paper Mario is good from what I hear, I don't have it yet. If you have wireless internet the virual console has quite a few classic games to download and gets new games every monday. The Wii also plays all Gamecube games flawlessly.

Only get one if you don't already own a 360.

I agree with Zaku. I have a 360 and a Wii, and if it weren't for the 360, I sure wouldn't be playing a whole lot of videogames. I have to hand it to Metroid though, that game is GREAT. Zelda is pretty good and RE4 is fantastic, if you haven't played it yet. Paper Mario is really a matter of taste. If you like reading a lot of text and you enjoy really silly kid-friendly stories, than you'll probably have a good time. Other than those 4 games though... there isn't a whole lot of good gaming to be had on this system.
