Hey everyone, i'm thinking about purchasing a Wii in the near future. I just have a couple questions. The first is can you play most games with the gamecube controller? I don't think i would like motion controls much, I would just rather play the games with the standard button controls. The second is if there is any games i should add to my list. So far I would get Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy. Please don't suggest any games that are also on PS3, as i have one and i would get any multiplatform game on it rather than the Wii. I generally just want the Wii for the Nintendo first party titles that i grew up with. And my final question is do you feel the Wii would be worth it in my situation? Is it worth $270 if i don't want motion controls that much and only a select few games? Thanks for any answers.

i feel the Wii would be worth it in your situation for sure. you don't need to like motion controls. Galaxy has hardly ANY motion controls in it. Most games can't be played with the GC controller; the only two Wii Games i know of that are compatible with GC controller are Brawl and Mario kart but the entire Virtual Console(where you download games from SNES and N64) is compatible with GC controller. The only game you should add to your list is The Conduit. It is coming out around Christmas 2008 and is a Wii exclusive FPS with on-line multiplayer but if you have enough shooters over on PS3 then you might not want it. hope this helped :D

You may think that you won't like motion controls much, but trust me, Metroid Prime 3 wouldn't be as awesome with a GC controller.

And Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution (which is seen as a "mediocre" fighting game cause most reviewers don't seem to figure out how to Y cancel) is compatible with the GC controller too. And it's definitely not as bad as Gametrailers rated it (6.9), but I'm not sure if it's an 8.4 (by IGN, and an editor's choice award too lol) either. But it's definitely a pretty good and really fun fighting game. Oh but I'd wait until around October first, cause Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revoluion 2 is coming out then.

the games with slight motion controls are great. i really like the two handed control scheme.

the games that over-do motion controls .. yeah those are no fun, and you can avoid those.

the games that do it right, are great!

there are just enough really good games to make it totally worth it.
