I've been thinking of getting a DS Lite but one thing bothers me: Nintendo constantly comes out with new Gameboys on a regular basis so is there any word on the next Nintendo handheld? Since I don't want to buy a DS now if it's going to be outdated in like less than a year.

i think you're good to go with the lite.

theres no announced plans for a new ds yet.

they aren't coming up with anything better. the micro was smaller than sp but it wasn't neccesarily better. i can't think of anything else they could do to make the ds better apart from making it super small. and i don't like things that small.

Seeing as how the Lites are still fairly new, I think you're safe for a long time.

you should be 100% satisfied with a Lite for at least 2 more years.

Agreed. Lites are selling like hotcakes and Nintendo would be unwise to make them obsolete so soon.

Yeah. And what forces you to get the new DS if it comes another, anyway? I still stick to my bulky DS
