Ok so I got "Final Fantasy CC: The Crystal Bearers" and it's a game I really really really enjoyed playing for the first 3 hours or so, up until this one minor annoyance showed its ugly head.... Why the heck is there a time limit on clearing an area of monsters to close the stream before it disappears? After the first 3 hours or so it becomes nearly impossible to complete an area before the time limit ends, so I end up extremely frustrated. Imagine having a single monster left to kill and you "hook" it with your power for one last shake only to find that you're too late. I stopped playing after the 4th time it happened to me and haven't touched the game since. Thoughts?

Seems like a pretty small and insignificant reason to stop playing the game. So you couldn't clear the area before the time ends. The next time around you should know where the higher concentration of enemies are. It doesn't change from what I can recall. Even then it doesn't impact the game. Just moveon to the next area and continue with the story.

There's a few items you can forge that will give extra time. The small gives about 1 minute and the large gives 2-3 minutes. I don't know if they stack because both of mine were amulets (I refuse to take off the 1hp/10 seconds buff).

After that, its all about exploiting weaknesses and finding one-hit kill opportunities, the UMA's do a good job of explaining a few, but the medal system does the rest.

it's because you're doing it wrong!

Just because you need practice, it shouldn't make you hate the game.

Its sound sort of like dying in combat, if you fail, you know where the enemies are coming from.I don't like when games force trail and error but as long as its not every 5 minutes with it, its not game breaking.

time limits can be a pain but they have always been a part of gaming and always will be it just shows that some people need to practice more to over come time limits in a game

I don't hate the game I just haven't experienced something like this before, an RPG with a time limit on something like leveling up. Yeah I know it has nothing to do with levels but most of my health upgrades I get are via the streams. Zelda has time limits too but you can upgrade your health without worrying too much about time limits. I haven't dug into the game much. is there a way I can upgrade my health without relying on stream-clearing much? If only there was another way I'd definitely give it a chance. And no it's not like dying in combat, trust me.
