Has anyone played this game? I'm trying to decide between it and Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. Been a fan of HM for years but from what I've read the head of that series has moved on to Rune Factory. Now I've only played a little bit of the DS version of the first game but never had time to play it fully. Things kept getting in the way and now they are at RF3. I've normally played HM games on the consoles anyway. I'll get back to the DS version in time but I curious about the Wii version. I know it's an adaption of the first DS game but that just means there is more to it then the DS game.

Is the farm larger? Dungeons bigger? The number of possible women you can marry? Can only only play as the male character or do you have a choice like in Harvest Moon?

Any idea how well RFF did sales wise? A sequel coming?

Thanks.

I've asked this elsewhere, but my concern about RFF is whether the Runey system is daunting. It just seems like the kind of thing that could keep you busy and prevent you from doing other things you want to do. What do owners of it think?

runeys are not that hard, and dont take up nearly as much time as you would think, unless you want them to. its totally up to you

I have both RFF and HM Animal Parade, I also have HM Tree of Tranquility too. I've never played RFF for the DS. And I haven't played RFF for the Wii very much yet either, but only because I've been busy with other games :P If you've played HM TOT then you'd probly like HM AP though. They've added a lot of new stuff, and it's a really fun game. I'm not sure if I could choose one over the other, I'd recommend getting them both :P

All of the characters from HM TOT are also on HM AP, plus more characters were added. HM AP has a Wizard and a Witch, also a Harvest King, in adition to the Harvest Goddess . And it gives you two different options to choose for your character, two choices for the girl and two choices for the boy.

A camera was added that you can take pic's with and you can even frame them and hang them up in your house. There's other new tools/equipment too.

New wild animals and a circus that comes to town once a month. I think they're a few new recipes and seeds that you can plant.

The story is a bit different and the map is a lot bigger also.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of at the moment :P

what about from a technical aspect? ToT was great as a game but from a technical standpoint its not very good... the sound, for one was not as good as I would have hoped and the visuals could have been better. Alot of why i like rune factory is one: because of he added combat to the harvest moon stencil, and two: it upgraded everything from ToT from a technical standpoint.

I have both. I rarely play Anime Parade because I spend all my time playing Frontier. I like the art direction, and the many aspects of the game you could focus on. I currently in the fifth years and spent about 100 plus hours on the game already. Truly an amazing game. The only Harvest Moon I ever play nearly this extensive was A Wonderful Life. About the Runey system, I never really bother to learn how it works, and I still don't because there's just too many ways to play this game.

I guess HM AP is a bit better then TOT...but I like the way the graphics/sound are on TOT too so.
