Well if gonintendo who usually just post anything, actually called it a rumor. That means the source is really not credible, so we will see what happens.
Only new color was for Japan and that was the Brain Age 2 DS lite bundle color. Note if you have poor reading comprehension it is a DS Lite Color. No new info just release dates for certain Japanese game releases. Seriously it was reported on over a dozen hours.
All we got were the Annoucment of the Black and Crimson DSlite in japan and the Releas dates of Mario Party DS (Oct. 4th), SMG (Nov. 1st, teo week's before NA).
I haven't heard anything about Nintendos press conference, just a crapload of stuff about Apples press conference. iPod Touch? Lame. 80 gig classic for 250 bucks? WIN!

I never heard about this conference until today. I read that the only Japanese games on VC will come to a more worldwide release like in Australia will have Super Mario Bros 2 (lost Levels) and a game from Jaleco that is similar to Goemon/Mystical Ninja.
IMO, it's a huge news. But I think it's not the surprise.

I think there is supposed to be some announcement from Nintendo in September, but I don't think that announcement was ever clearly stated to be revealed on September 5 at some press conference. It is entirely possible that the announcement will come later in the month (or later today, or tomorrow). I'm sure that we will all be sure when the big surprise is revealed, although it might not be anything like what some are expecting!
