Sorry if this has been done :P. I just wanted to see what top 5 (was 3, but I needed more lol) things you really want in Zelda WiiU. DARE TO DREAM! :P

*assume that graphics are awesome by WiiU standards*

Mine are

 1. New story altogether. Still link and such, but no links to any of the same bosses or anything. Link, Zelda, and maybe the triforce and some other things can stay.
 2. World a little bigger than TP and WW that has enough exploration and secrets. Perhaps a world combining land and water traversal (though done well, and not annoying :P).
 3. Time/weather changing (whether it be automatic or manipulated, or a combination of both)
 4. Voice Acting for everyone but link.
 5. LESS HAND HOLDING! Perhaps they could even take away an assitant. Or not, just as long as they are not as annoying as Fi.

That was 5 things...

1. Either bring back the wolf transformation or flight, both were great conecpts that were criminally underused. I'd like to see them become a more integral part of the experience.

2. Seamless connected open world. SS's overworld design was a nice change of pace, but I prefer the OoT/TP style.

3. A town with the same scale as Castle Town in TP, same number of NPCs and buildings etc., combined with the bazaar of Skyloft in SS, and the sidequests exploring NPC's stories of Clocktown in MM.

Haha I forgot to change the title to 5. I changed my post and description to 5 :P. 3 is more meaningful, but I just couldn't do it!. About yours...

 1. I don't know if I want them to bring back either in the same sense as they were. I think the Wolf was good but could be used much better. kinda like how Paper didnt actually mean much in Paper Mario 64, but then they nailed it in TTYD. As for flying, it may be hard to integrate into a world more interconnected like OoT and TP, but if done right, it could be awesome.
 2. COMPLTELY agree! :)
 3. I would like this, but the town in TP was actually small in what you could do and interact with. It was pretty bad. But I love towns, so a good sized town that rivals MM's would be great. THough I love to see a few towns for different races. But by no means do I want as many as TES games :P.

You know something I liked for that tech demo? I liked how the Keese were just ambiance, I would like to see that in the actual game. Link doesn't have to kill everything, seeing some wildlife in a Zelda game that's just there to breathe life in the world would be cool. And I'm not really interested in hunting them like RDR and the upcoming AC3 lol.

I liked the Castle Town in TP, it was like a "realistic" castle town. The town isn't a playground, you have people going about their business, not concerned with Link and his antics, instead of people just standing around waiting to tell Link some pointless dialogue. Scrap the(albeit short) loading screens, make it a seamless central hub for all the characters in the game. Expand on the timing schedule of MM by having days of the week. Like say on Monday mornings Lon Lon Ranch delivers milk to a shop in Castle Town, so they have a sell on milk or you can pick up a side mission to protect Lon Lon while they are away.

I want the overworld to be detailed more than just simply large; look at Arkham City as a good example. Now I want it bigger than that of course, but that world was incredibly detailed and I love it. I want to go the Lost Woods and have it be a really thick forest, where the canopy only allows a tiny bit of sunlight in and its pitch black at night.

Things to find in the overworld, again mentioning the schedule thing, which I would simply separate it into morning, afternoon and night. Have the overworld also have events based on a schedule. Like say see Gerudo plotting a robbery at night and they make a run for it and you have to chase them down on horseback to stop them.

And talking smack about Fi, those be fighting words :P But I think the best course of action for the sidekick is to leave their clues up to the player. If someone says you need to go to three temples, you can ask the sidekick where they are. Or you can just roam aimlessly until you happen upon them.

In order of importance:

1. wii motion plus controls (easily the most important)

2. more exploration

3. much less linear

4. much less padding

5. voice acting

I don't want voice actingIAmNot_fun

Sorry to disagree with you, sir, but this late in the game developing days, voice acting is almost a necessity. No voice acting may be a "charm" for Zelda games, but they would have to step up eventually, or they'd have to deal with the aspect of being called "lazy" or "behind the times."

I'm just thinking of what Tom McShea could attack at.

Ive wanted a super dense Forrest in zelda for so long and we've yet to receive it how I've wanted. I would more than anything just want more densely populated landscapes, not as in people but objects grass, plants etc. just making everything feel much more alive and less sparse would help things immensely, the forest and landscapes in the game strangers wrath comes to mind in something close to what id like to see.

Voice acting, side quests, realistic combat (blood and gore), open world, and next-gen graphics (powered by Unreal Engine 4)

I don't intend to play any Zelda games. I just wanted to share some ideas.

I'd like to see the map be more expansive and open then TP. I think something like two continents with an ocean in the middle with some islands would be awesome. Combine the best aspects of TP and WW's map. Maybe there are two opposing factions on each side of the ocean.

I'd like to see cutting edge graphics.

I don't really want a change in the zelda formula. Just an old school Twilight princess/OOT type Zelda game.

I would like to see a completely different type of story though. I think the two opposing factions thing I suggested would be entertaining.

I know exactly what you guys mean! I have a beautiful vision of a forest in my head :). Though most of the time I think I would love to see a spooky dense forest with moonlight pouring through.

***SPOILERS FOR XENOBLADE***

Oh and not that I want it to look just like this, but the Forest in Xenoblade (I just got there) is pretty awesome.

Yeah I don't want a major change in formula either, just a highly evolved, innovated, and deep iteration of Zelda. I think a combination of water and land would be awesome as well. I also agree on a completely different story. I would love to see a Zelda that feels like Zelda, yet new and mind blowing.

I only meant it as a way to tell people not to put good graphics as one of the wishes, because it will be as good as WiiU can do, so there is simply no point in bothering with that. Though you could wish for a certain graphical sty1e.

1. More items that work seamlessly with the environments surrounding the game, such as the leaf in Windwaker and the remote bug in Skyward Sword. There shouldn't be a reason to limit items like these to one per Zelda (i.e. Windwaker's Leaf), let alone not including such an item at all in a few others such as Twilight Princess. This encourages exploration, instead of having large environments just for the sake of it.

2. New mechanics to the game, the same formula is getting a little old. I think they need to take a Majora's Mask approach to the next installment, meaning something that is different enough from the conventional Zeldas we've come to expect.

3. More character interaction. I feel they got the introduction to Skyward Sword right with many of its characters, but it became a bit boring after
Zelda disappeared. There was little to no interaction with Zelda and the others during the main quest until way later.
Up until that point though, it felt like a story with potential that had color to it instead of continuously introducing us to new characters that send us on 1000 fetch quests as soon as we encounter them.

4. An active world filled with events. It feels like Windwaker and Majora's Mask were the last Zeldas to achieve this. They can draw the line somewhere in between.

5. I hope the Wii U version makes very good use of the tablet controller in many unique ways that show third parties what the system is capable of. For example, most people already know the tablet can be used as a map along with fluid inventory management. Nintendo needs to go beyond that.

Might be too much to ask for, but this franchise is becoming a bit dull because they are playing it too safe by re-using the same formula with just enough new features to call it a new game. I loved Skyward Sword's controls, but it felt like that was the only new feature that seperated it from what I haven't already seen before.

1. More organic world (Wind Waker came pretty close to this.) ("More organic" seems to sum up one thing that a lot of people are mentioning). 2. Relatively linear, casual friendly main quest (not moreso than Skyward Sword) with options for hardcore gamers / fans to branch out and explore - earn treasures, discover artifacts / lore that references other games in the series. 3. Music integration that doesn't suck (harp and howling were both limited and sounded terrible) 4. No Ganon. I'd be fine with Zant or other villains though. 5. Keep the weapon upgrading. Motion controls, too.

1. Larger focus on the ambient. As you trasverse Faron Woods, instead of hearing a cheerful tune you listen to the distance sound of crickets, birds, leaves rustling, water gushing in a nearby stream, perhaps a fire crackling at a friend's camp -- all this with lush visuals: from carps running down a stream to beams of sunlight that barely crack the forest's roof. Leave the 'artificial' feeling the world had in Skyward Sword (the places looked like levels, not open scenarios) to dungeons/buildings and specific places.

2. Maintain the motion controls implemented in SS, and improve on it.

3. Larger - and seamless - world. Think Skyrim, but picturing Hyrule. I'd like to see more NPC houses, towns and places than the same old.

4. Story-heavy side-quests. They don't necessarily alter your main quest, but they have emotion attached and feel like actual QUESTS, not just jobs or favors Link does for two dozen rupees.

5. Expand on the customization options present in SS - perhaps make different paths for the items you find, that will allow you to clear dungeons or get to places you couldn't otherwise.

Other than that, the always-expected graphical improvement :).

real time. weather, one big open world. i want a lot of side quests like majora's mask had with the towns people. i want it to be harder, remove helping new players all together, was disappointed to see that sheikah help stone in oot 3d. no voice acting. i don't want the bosses to be killed predictably after 3 hits or phases or whatever, you all know what i mean. i'd like to see termina again. make enemies be able to actually kill link, even with all heart pieces.

I don't want them to use the tablet unnecessarily, but there are some great uses, in addition to getting UI clutter off the screen (which is huge in itself in my opinion). I loved drawing on maps in Phantom Hourglass. I think the ability to make notes on maps would be great. Maybe a little journal too, so you can write more down without obstructing a map.

1. Agreed, though music is a KEY part of Zelda and would need to be in a lot of the game. But the extra ambient sounds and visuals accompanying them would be great.

4. You need a mix of both. I think Majora's Mask did a great job of this. There are little quests, big undertaking quests, and tons of hidden stuff that are not even quests you are given. Same goes for WW if I recall. I do agree though that it isn't fun to do sidequests over and over when they feel the same and/or generic and petty.

5. The customization in SS was pretty underwhelming. I think they could do much much more with it as well.

1) A more open and dynamic world with real-time events and plenty of opportunity for sidequests and exploration. I don't want the game to be too linear.

2) Scrap the whole 4-hour tutorial at the beginning. It shouldn't take so long for the game to actually become interesting. Start it with a bang. Actually, scrap the helper character altogether. Link shouldn't be a moron, and the player shouldn't be treated like one.

3) I'd like a new Link. Or, I'd like a new Link that actually looks like a new Link. The Link in SS looked the same as TP Link. It was just lazy of Nintendo. Stop being lazy, Nintendo.

4) The game needs to be fundamentally different from the rest of the series in order to stand out and demonstrate that the series still has legs and isn't stale. I'm sorry, but transforming into a wolf (that's no fun to play), flying on a bird, and swinging a remote are not enough. Majora's Mask is the best example of this to date, Oracles a close second. Personally, I'd like to see a drastic change in setting. If the series keeps referencing its own legends, then the passage of time should be more apparent. The only time we know, other than being told, that centuries have passed by is in Wind Waker. Let's let Hyrule enter its own industrial revolution. Or let's have the Hyrule equivalent of the modern day, with cars, the internet, etc.

5) I'd like a modernized top-down perspective. Something along the same lines as what Other M did for the classic side-scrolling of Metroid. Just, for top-down. Maybe this'd better suit a 3DS game, but hey, we've seen plenty of console 2D platformers lately, so this shouldn't be out of the question.

6) Honorable Mentions:

i) I want it to be charming and quirky. SS had some of this, but I'm thinking more along the lines of Link's Awakening and ALttP. To the darkness-wishers: darker is not necessarily better. Go watch The Dark Knight or something.

ii) Less of a cinematic focus. The game should be epic without all sorts of cutscenes to tell me how epic it is.

iii) Subrosians?

1. A halfway decent story for once. 2. A more seamless world that actually feels alive. 3. Soundtrack that's the quality of the orchestrated soundtrack that came with SS. 4. Ditch the asenine gibberish and get decent voice actors, the excuses are getting lame. 5. Let me keep the motion plus controls :)

Why not? Who wouldn't want it to look as good as possible? This isn't the Wii or 3ds; there's no built-in limitation holding it back at this point.

I think it's totally reasonable to expect it to look every bit as good (if not better) than anything available today.

In terms of which style they should use, I'd be very happy if they stuck with the look they had on the demo.

just want to say that I thought the graphics in the demo were awesome by anyone's standards.

There's really no reason to throw any sort of disclaimer like ' looks good ... for nintendo'.

Graphicswise, if they can match that, I'll be happy.

Audacitron

I only meant it as a way to tell people not to put good graphics as one of the wishes, because it will be as good as WiiU can do, so there is simply no point in bothering with that.

I don't think you are understanding me lol. Of course it will look at least as good as some of the best stuff today. We basically know that. That is my point. Zelda always looks the best on its respective platform. There is no changing how good its graphics will be. So why even bother wishing for them? they will be awesome.

The demo graphics are definitely good, but I would need to see more (not sure if the sty1e would work for the whole world), and link looked kinda strange and plasticy. Other than that I liked them.

SS had the right idea with filling the overworld with obstacles and puzzles, I prefer that over it just being a big flat land mass. They just need to make it all feel more connected.

Okay, I think I got you. :) Basically you expect top notch graphics as something we can more or less take for granted in a new Zelda game.

I just get a bit annoyed when people say 'graphics don't matter' or 'I don't care about graphics'. It is of course true that there are many games that are great despite not having the latest graphics with all the bells and whistles. And the best graphics in the world won't save a mediocre game. Furthermore, I think 'good graphics' can be as much to do with design and conception as having all the latest tech.

I see it a lot on Nintendo forums, as if in the face of graphic inferiority Nintendo fans feel the need to act like it doesn't matter to them, when I'm sure Nintendo users have the same capacity for visual appreciation as anyone else.

4. Ditch the asenine gibberish and get decent voice actors, the excuses are getting lame. WreckEm711

It is ridiculous. For Link personally it is another debate but there should be no excuse for the rest of the cast anymore. What is there excuse anyways? The original LoZ was released in like what? 1987? And since that game didn't have voice acting they have to keep tradition? I can think of many franchises, Final Fantasy for example, that started out the same yet has voice acting today. Such a load of rubbish I can't even conjure up a word for it.

Meh. SS did do some things very good in that aspect, but the sky was more or less their "big flat land mass". While I can agree that some obstacle filled overworld and such is a good thing, I also think there needs to be areas that don't feel so hostile. The break in action is nice. Just as Blizzard discovered when making Diablo III. They changed some things back to a more familiar feel, so you went to town more often rather than just fighting forever. cause having downtime where you just take it all in, talk to the villagers, explore, and so on is awesome. Matter of fact, it is what I enjoy the most about Zelda :).

in all honesty it would've been better if the sky was just scraped all together. Just sink skyloft to the ground and connect it with all the other areas like clocktown

I like the puzzle element of the overworld in Skyward Sword, it really fit the undeveloped land theme. If they have a developed kingdom, you cant do that, you have to pick and choose what areas will be hostile and requires Link to work and use tools to navigate it. Inside a volcano, deserts, ruins are always good places for that kind of thing.

I hear you there, and it does make sense. I liked them too, but I also wish there was more to the towns and exploration aspect. I mean there is usually danger outside of any town, but I like having times where I feel more like I am exploring and taking it all in, rather than constantly thinking about a puzzle. I just wish they gave more attention to the exploratino aspect. I loved how it was done in OoT and MM. I think if they could combine that feel with more areas in the overworld that have the puzzley feel, it would be awesome.

Sepewrath
your schedule thing reminds me a lot of guild wars 2's dynamic events. maybe you should check it out :P the only thing i really want are a return to that grim fantasy art from TP (i love WW and SS, but i'd like something else now :P), and a big, expansive yet detailed and full of (rewarding) secrets to find. i'd also like them to expand on the whole upgrade, durability and pouch system from SS. give me a reason to carry extra arrows and bombs, make it so shields aren't unbreakable unless you suck at the game, limit the pouch more so i have to consider what to bring. no, that's not turning zelda into an RPG, that's just giving it some depth (and use to the damn rupees). OH and keep the health from SS. that's the only game where i was actually near dead in multiple situations. maybe ramp it up a bit, get rid of stools or make hearts drop more rarely (except early on, because you don't want people to think it's dark souls :P), as to make potions relevant outside the final boss.

majora's mask is an example on how NOT to make an overworld. it just plain sucked. no excuses. it was bad and it should be ashamed of it.

I don't want voice actingIAmNot_fun

^This^

1: Bigger world/More expolartion

2: Being able to go to what ever dungeon wherever you want when ever you want (Kind of like Link to the Past)

3: More dungeons and less things that aren't dungeons in the main quest. (Trying to say get rid of things like the big gap between The Mining Facility and Ancient Cistern in Skyward Sword)

4: More items

5: Fun side quests

This. There wasn't a single part of SS where I got to somewhere where I couldn't progress because I hadn't found the item needed to yet. The game is so streamlined that it holds your hands and tells you what to do, and in what order -- I don't care for sequence breaking, but it'd be nice to see areas you can't access yet, dungeons you can only get partly through, etc. ALttP did this best, in the series.

Still loved Skyward Sword, don't misinterpret me.

I wasn't too fond of the stylus-only control of Phantom Hourglass, and I didn't even try to play Spirit Tracks. I guess I'd like a console Zelda to really revitalize the top-down perspective, allowing first-person looking and maybe over-the shoulder duels when appropriate. I want a new top-down Zelda with the full strength of Nintendo's development behind it, the next main series entry, not a spinoff.

Well, perhaps spinoff was the wrong term. Direct sequel, then? Also, I said I didn't like the stylus-only controls. I'd rather use D-pad/stick and buttons for my top-down games. Anyway, the perspective is just one of the things I'm looking for in the WiiU Zelda.

I don't like the touch controls either. I like them for drawing on the map and such, but not controlling link. With that said, I don't want Zelda to be top down on the WiiU, though I would be interested in seeing a fully 3D top down Zelda (maybe on the 3DS) that has more of a Diablo feel. I do not mean it is a loot driven RPG, but the controls and feel would be more like a typical 3D game, though overhead. Could be interesting.
