trauma center second opinion trouble

i just rented trauma center and on the first level it wont let me pick up the tweezer do i have to press a button or something

Did it come with the directions?

You need to press A and B to use them

If that tool is shaded out to where you can't even select it but you can select others then I'm going to guess that you're in a part of the game where you need to use other tools to solve the problem.

Hmm, and you have the thumbstick pointed and held in the direction of the tool?

I'd maybe take a quick peek at Gamefaq just to go over the steps there
