Definitely get Advance Wars: Dual Strike! It's a great game. I've had it for a couple of years and am still not bored with it! I've heard Battles of Prince of Persia is good too, but I've never played it so I can't vouch.
Advance Wars: Dual Strike is the game you want if need a long lasting and easily replayable game. The campaign is great and takes a while to complete plus it's challenging! Once you've finished with that you can just do random skirmishes which always pass the time away. New to the DS version is the inclusion of a map editor where you can create maps and battle on them! Great game overall and one of the best on the DS.
