Both are amazing games but I'm going to go with Twilight Princess simply because of the fact that the game lasted so much longer for me. It was a good 6 months before I finished that game. I finished Galaxy in a week. Although I'll be going back here and there to gather the last 40 stars, I feel like I've seen nearly everything already.
Both, in my opinion, are the best entries since their N64 days.
because Galaxy exceeded my expectations, and TP was... disappointing.

Galaxy did not EXCEED my expectations, neither did TP. Galaxy is awesome but TP is definitely better in my opinion. The fact that galaxy came out a year after the launch, i still feel that it could have been soo much better. the exclusion of certain abilities(cape flying is better than buzzing! and no punches or true kicking) was a letdown in my opinion
Galaxy is way better. TP was boring after the first 10 hours. It was sooo long and repetitive. All the puzzles were boring and easy. The whole game was way too easy. That game really bored me. But, I'm not a fan of MP3 either. I guess I just don't like puzzle games. Galaxy is more platforming which makes if fun for me.

TP had a better story, but I guess you shouldn't expect much from Mario so I won't really hold that against it. TP had more variety though, Galaxy felt like more of the same after the first 30 stars. As mentioned above TP took me quite a bit longer (and I enjoyed every bit of it), where as Galaxy was over fairly quickly (93 stars so far...I may go back and get the rest some time but I'm not very compelled to...also it went gradually down hill after about 30 stars or so).
The real deal breaker though was the reliability of the controls. In Galaxy I felt like the controls could have been much better. The A+Z Long jump especially, it seemed to work about 1/20 times. I didn't have any problems of this kind with TP...except perhaps that I didn't really like the wolf parts early on in the game.
Twlight Princess was an epic evolution of the second best series of all time. Couldn't have been better. The same can be said for Galaxy but I just personally like the Zelda formula and universe better.
Therefore Twilight Princess trumps Galaxy. Just barely though.
Quite a tough choice, but I like Galaxy more. Twilight Princess was a pretty epic Zelda adventure for sure, but I haven't played a mario game as good as Galaxy since Mario 64. And you just can't defy Mario now can you?
This is just like my Oot and SM64 debate: I like Galaxy better because I had more fun playing it and I could see my self beating it over and over and over again.
