Twilight Princess vs Okami

Okami is better imo. I thought TP was a great game but Okami just seemed fresh and more enjoyable. Its art style is rivaled by no game I have played, at anytime of the game you could stop and look around and it looked like a painting. There are other Zelda games(OoT, WW specifically) I liked better than Okami but I think Okami was just a better game than TP. Its story was better, it was very interesting. TheColbert

It really depends on what version of Okami you're talking about.
Since this is the Wii board, I presume you're talking about the Wii Edition of Okami. So, if I were to compare Twilight Princess to Okami for Wii, I would say that Twilight Princess would win.
BUT...
If you were comparing Twilight Princess to Okami's original PS2 release, I would say that Okami would win.
Okami has a lot going for it with it's artsyle and fresher, less formulaic approach to its gameplay. However, where to me things really count are level design, puzzles, and combat. And in this arena Twilight Princess (and the Zeldaseries in general)really beats Okami out. Both are great games though.
You couldn't get the hang of the controls in the wii version? It really depends on what version of Okami you're talking about.

I have to say, Okami was much better. I was a huge fan of TP until I played Okami. I just found everything to be better in Okami: characters, story, gameplay, graphics (art), music....
I never thought Okami would beat TP, but after playing it I would say this decision was very easy. TP is still an amazing game though.

This. Heh. Never played the Wii version though.completely agree... The story for Okami was simply great. I'm surprised the game didn't get more recognition for this alone, but as far as a video game. Zelda beats it by miles. The story was well, Zelda. Not bad, but it's harder to continue a story than make a new one, and it turn out mindblowing. Though, the level design in TP was absolutely phenomenal. The gameplay in TP makes Okami look like just another game trying to be Zelda, which in a large part it is. Anyone that disputes this is lying to them selves. The story in TP was good enough, complemented by the excellent gameplay it has pushes the game to that level that only Zelda games can ever seem to reach.Okami has a lot going for it with it's artsyle and fresher, less formulaic approach to its gameplay. Okami by far. It has more interesting visuals, superiour music, superiour lore, inventive controls that ARE NOT broken (they're just explained badly) and gameplay that flows like wine - none of that stop/start gameplay that Zelda has had since OoT.
Good Poll by the way...

What about the gameplay was better for you?I've played Twilight Princess 3 times, only completed once, second time through I forgot where I was and statred over.
Okami I've played 5 times all the way through, still not tired of it. Superior sound, music, art direction, and story and enviroments belong to Okami.
Twilight Princess had bland areas, I think Ocarina had a bigger color pallate than TP, characters were bland emotionless zombies, music and sounds were like a trip back to 1999.
Both games suffer from bad combat on the Wii, and Okami suffers more because the celestial brush system is screwed up, you just have to find groove to work with though.
Both games are definitley worth playing no matter who you are, TP just didn't appeal to me as much. I'd recommend buying both but Okami gets so little love. If you live close to one of the 75000 people in America who has it, ask if you can play it for a while.

I liked the combat better, especially the brush abilities. When you get towards the end, you can change them together, and you really feel powerful. The weapons were also pretty cool. The only thing I liked about Zelda's combat better were the fights with no boundaries.
I liked the "dungeons" and bosses more, too. I felt the dungeons fit in more seemlessly with the setting and story. The Bosses I thought were a little better too, expecially ninetails and the entire sequence with the Owls. Zelda had awesome bosses as well, though.
What I really liked about Okami was the story and characters.
