You probably needs to clean your Wii's lens. Just buy the Wii's lens cleaning kit. You can buy online at Amazon or you can go to a gamestop, thats where I got mine. I think they have them at places like Best Buy and Walmart too, but I don't know for sure. If the lens aren't the problem, then you probably have to send your Wii to Nintendo, because when my Discs stopped being read for all games and when I tried using the lens cleaning kit I ended up having to call Nintendo and they said I had to sendmy Wiito them. And their website when I had this problem wasn't much of help.
Hopefully the problem is the lens being dirty. Because if not, you may have to call Nintendo to help you, and they will probably end up saying you have to ship it off to them and it costs like 70-90 dollars to repair, I forget the exact price of what it was. Well good luck
That just happened to me now. $96 for me (In Canada, without shipping .. if I drop it off to one of the locations they gave me). What sucks is I just got a bunch of games for my birthday so now I can't play them lol. I also had the lens cleaning kit, but that didn't work.Hopefully the problem is the lens being dirty. wow 3 threads on the same page of the same problems jeez ,, get a disc cleaner,
or buy a new wii why is this even questioned ne more i think we all should know when our system dies it dies nothing other members of gamespot are gonna change that for ya ,
there is 3 ways to fix your issue
1-buy a new wii
2 get a wii cleaning disc -1999 at gamestop
3 ring nintendo -theyll charge ya 90 bucks if the disc drive is done for thats my quote from nintendo when i asked them so ya
right now for 9 bucks more you could go out and buy a used wii from gamestop
with all these reports popping up at the same time there HAS to be a common link. For those of you getting the error: what games have you recently downloaded or played on your Wii prior to the problem? When was the last time you updated? What other channels do you use on your Wii?
Somebody brought up Black Ops as the culprit, I'm interested to see if you all have recently played it
Mine just refused to read Metroid: Other M. People say it's the dual layer, but it still reads Brawl. So I'm currently debating buying the lens kit or just sending it to Nintendo.UCF_Knight
Other M is the only game I ever had problems with too. I just restarted my wii over and over again until it worked. Up to 20 restarts sometimes.
