Okay first watch this video about "Wii Breakfast."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a14s1LcCUWs&feature=featured

Now I think this video actually brings up a valid point. I believe the the wiimote was created so that the user could use their imagination when they were sword fighting or when they were golfing or playing tennis. Yet you see packs of peripherals that add a golf club extension or a tennis racket or even ones that make the nunchuk a shield and the wiimote a sword. I have to ask what is the point of these things? Wasn't the point of the wiimote to be able to do all of these things without the use of the peripherals?

Thoughts?

That was brilliant!

Their other stuff is pretty swell too. Thanks for the link man. :)

Edit: Oh and I do agree that those shield and sword peripherals are ridiculously superfluous...

The real people to blame are those who buy them.

Pretty sweet graphics lol.

But yeah, the wii does have a lot of lame peripherals. It's easy to avoid the stupid ones though.

Hilarious video!

I guess some people have a hard time using their imaginations and need the extra attachments.

no the sad thing is the amount of ppl that buy this stuff.. that said you do have to understand, a huge amount of "customer" of the Wii are kids and they love all this stuff, if you even thing about he club, bat and such is made in size for a kid. They love it, being a 28 yo with 3 lil 6yo - 9yo cousin... well... they love it... btw: funny clip... the toaster was ROFLMAO...

Well that's the thing. Where is kid's imaginations these days? If I'm going out and spending 10 - 20 bucks for a baseball bat peripheral why don't I just go and buy a real baseball bat to play with. I know you could say the same about playing the baseball in Wii Sports to begin with but this seems different. I don't know, maybe I'm just weird and don't understand it.

Wah! That was great! Thanks for sharing :) You know there's a Zero Punctuation video that makes the exact same point you're making and it's pretty funny too!

well you have to see this from the point of a kid... The fact that the have toys do not mean that they do not imagine... Or don`t they buy the whole "soldier" wear, or lil princess... or the action figure and the barbies.... The fact that they have a bat or a club do not prevent them from imagine that they won a torunament, or that the fan are applauding... Are this peripherals needed? no...but the Wii is a "toy", like any other entertaiment set... and as long as there is a demand for a bussiness they would be production... And if you or me or anyone here would have the way/$$ to take advantage of this marchet we will.... I may not care about peripherals, but give me anything to collect/have of Castlevania and there I am spending $$$$

some of the things in that video were funny but that guy was so off the mark and very ignorant about alot of stuff really didnt know what he was talking about ...the breakfast video was Hilarius i laugh every-time i see the wii sport peripherals in the store i wonder when wii sports resort comes out if we will see some crazy Frisbee add-on.

funny video, but i will say that the whole ideo behind the peripherals is to add to the experience. I dont have any of the tennis rackets, or bats, or swords, but i dont have the zapper and the nyko perfect shot. i will say that they both add a little to the game expierence(play a on rails shooter like house of dead with the perfect shot, then without, your going to want to have it) But yea, a lot the the peripherals are pointless.

Thanks for that video. Yahtzee pretty much said what I was saying only he said it in about 2 seconds with his super fast speech. :P [QUOTE="chang_1910"] well you have to see this from the point of a kid... I suppose it can add to the immersion but I think I'm more of a guy who liked to imagine everything more. I remember when I was little before I really played many video games and my brother and I would pretend sticks were guns and things like that. These days parents actually have to buy kids the toy gun. It's like they can't picture things and have fun like that. I just transfer that to the Wii and that's why I feel how I do about the peripherals for it. Also, I'm not sure there is so much a demand for it (were people actually asking for the gold club extension, the tennis racket, etc.?) more than people saw it in the store and just bought it.

That looks just about as much fun as making a real breakfast.
