Hey everyone, soooo I'm one of those people that likes to move my consoles around to different TVs in my house and to quickly do this I buy multiple AC adapters and HDMI for easy access.

At a quick glance it appears that no one is selling WiiU AC adapters at the moment. I wonder if I can use my Wii's AC adapter.

I'm not near the unit to test right now. Does anyone know where I can buy an extra WiiU adapter? or if I can use my Wii's AC adapter?

Much thanks.

Well I sure would like to see an answer on this. Took me a week to find a wii u in stock somewhere. Finally find one, get it home, unpack it and.....I somehow get a European ac adapter. After talking with nintendo support they decide to send me a NA adapter, but just my luck, none in stock and it's on back order. So maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to play my wii u sometime before the year ends....

It seems you cannot use the Wii adapter.

I haven't tried myself, but other people have mentioned that you can't plug the Wii adapter to the WiiU. You can, however, use the same sensor bar.

You can't use your Wii adaptor, I think it was in the IGN unboxing it showed that although the adapters looks similar, the Wii U adapters shape is actually the other way round to the Wii's meaning the angled egde is on the wrong side.

Hmmm.

AC Adaptor is a spare part, consumer replacable, Nintendo should have a ph number, email address or something for spare parts.

But, you have a problem. 100% of the inventory of AC adapters, I'd wager they're allocated to:

  • New unit sales
  • Warranty Replacements

It's Nintendo HQ in your region you need to get in contact with, and ask them if they can sell you another AC adapter. You need a good story, like that you lost your one. If you say you want a spare one for convenience, maybe they won't release the goods.
