VC and WiiWare for 02/09/09.

LIT (WayForward Technologies, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Violence, 800 Wii Points): Dark creatures have taken over Jake's high school, and it's up to you to guide him through each classroom in order to be reunited with his girlfriend Rachael. Existing light sources must be used smartly to create bridges of light for Jake to cross. One false step and Jake gets pulled into the darkness. Along the way he'll encounter twisted versions of his school's faculty, which must be battled in order to advance. LIT is a horror/puzzle game that requires the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers. It contains 30 levels, five boss battles, replay modes and several unlockables, including multiple endings, Dark Mode timed challenges and an unlockable character.

Wolf of the Battlefield™: MERCS (SEGA GENESIS, 1 player, Rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older—Mild Violence, 800 Wii Points): Following a rash of terrorism outbreaks and increasing opposition from guerilla fighters, the U.S. government has decided to hire a group of professional mercenaries to undergo secret missions, battling through enemy lines to go where no ordinary soldier would dare to go. Based on the popular arcade game, the SEGA GENESIS version of MERCS lets you play as a MERC and also adds an original mode, allowing players to choose from five different characters. Take no prisoners as you shoot, drive jeeps and tanks, and clash against huge bosses to accomplish your mission.

Mercs! I didn't think it would come out for the VC, thought it was too obscure. This might get a nostalgia purchase from me.

For 800 points it's a pretty good deal too.

I congratulate Wiiware on finally getting another title that sounds like a game and not an activity to spend an afternoon on and forget ever buying it.

Wonder if Rachael is really Shantae.

Like I mentioned in GGD, I'm interested in LIT not because it's by a developer who makes a lot of licensed cash-in games, but because they're the people behind Shantae on GBC and Contra 4 on DS. ;)MAILER_DAEMON

Hehe, am I the only one thinking that with enough support for this game, we could possibly see Shantae make her long-awaited comeback on WiiWare one day? Hmm... :P Anyways, it's games like LIT that has always made me excited about WiiWare. This service was made for developers with solid gameplay ideas that may not have quite all of the necessary qualities to make a successful retail title (budget, etc.) I've been looking forward to this game for months now and I really hope that it's able to impress. Downloading as soon as possible. I have 1000 Wii points that have been waiting for months to be spent anyways. XD

I actually just downloaded this game, Ive played through maybe 5 floors so far, easily my favorite WiiWare game thus far.

EDIT: oh bloody hell ... according to vc-review wiiware it needs 200 something.... I know I have pry ask this... but if I delete a game, does the save file goes as well?? Maybe I should pry wait until march (when we supposselly get the direct DL and play from SD cards, wow I`m not getting more VC and WiiWare games bc the space thingy... )

Yep, its around 200 blocks suppossedly, I really wasnt paying attention :P. And dont worry, just because you delete a VC/WW game the save doesnt go as well.

thxs :D I`ll delete Toki Tori then it has about 200 something block so that should give me the space... (I`m really sick of this, and I ahve just deal with this 3 times and one of them I even did not got the game just bc it was too much time... :? hope that SD rumor thing is true)
