ActRaiser (SNES®, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): A masterpiece of game design
originally released in the early days of the Super Nintendo Entertainment
System®, ActRaiser's enduring popularity stems from its revolutionary
combination of action- and simulation-based game play. The user plays the role
of the Master, a dethroned deity whose once-idyllic world has fallen under the
control of the Evil One. Stripped of godly power, the Master must somehow put
an end to the Evil One's reign and rebuild his desolate realm. Game play
alternates between two modes: Action and Simulation. In Action mode, the
Master must battle against impossible odds to pacify six lands. Pacifying a
land unlocks Simulation mode. In this mode, the Master must oversee the
development and repopulation of the territory he has reclaimed. In doing so,
he will gain followers who gradually restore his godly might, empowering him
to take back the next land and, ultimately, defeat the Evil One.

Kid Chameleon (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): The local arcade
is packed with kids, all lining up to play the latest, most realistic video
game they've ever seen. It's called Wild Side, and it uses holographic images
to immerse the player in a strange world. But there's a problem... Kids are
literally getting sucked into the game, and now several of them are trapped.
Throughout more than 100 levels, you'll take on several different forms, such
as a Berzerker, a Micromax, a Maniaxe or a Skycutter, which will make you much
more powerful. It's up to you, Kid Chameleon, the best gamer in town, to get
yourself inside the game so that you can defeat the game's boss and bring your
friends back to reality.

J.J. & JEFF (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): This comical action game
features two bungling detectives, J.J. and JEFF, as they travel through a
total of six fields. One day, a request comes into their office to take a case
that requires them to "rescue a wealthy man who's been kidnapped." Choose
between the two characters and set off alone to outwit your partner and save
the day. Each field is broken down into four areas, where enemies, as well as
your partner, will try to keep you from your goal. There are many items
throughout each area. Kick around in various locations to make them appear.
Jump and spray-paint your way toward your goal. If you find a hidden room, you
can regain health while being completely entertained by its short sketch and
surreal allure.

The press release isn't on the website yet. Are you sure these are the ones? If so ActRaiser is the only one I'll be getting.

Kid Chameleon is a amazinig game. I think it has upwards into 200 levels, and I highly recomend it. Ah the days of Game Genie, I remember I would always skip to the last level because it  was so freaking long. However now since  the  vc  channels  save your progress  it wont be that bad.

I SO hope this is right... I LOVE ActRaiser - best game of all time, for me. If I was stuck on an island and only had one game to play, it'd be ActRaiser...

I  guess I'll know in 30 minutes. :D

I remember playing Kid Chameleon a helluva long time ago. Pretty fun. Won't be getting it just yet, though.

I'm gonna get ActRaiser along with Paper Mario when that comes out.

Actraiser was a sweet game back in the day. I'm definately downloading this one. On a different note, does anyone actually download these totally random Turbographix 16 games? I downloaded Bonk's Adventure and hated it, and have vowed to never download another Turbographix game.

I'll check the reviews on ActRaiser as soon as they're up. I don't know much of anything about J.J. & Jeff, either, so I'm hoping it's good. I don't care for Kid Chameleon, though. Yeah, I'm probably the only one.

This is why I love the Virtual Console. It has tons of varity, and does not cater to a specific genre or game system.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!! I just DL this game and just finshed the first town. To be honest i thought the sim part was going to be boring, but i'm glad I was wrong. The sim part has action to which doesint let it drag. All you out there listen to this guy and me this game deserves your buy.

Guess no matter what comes out we'll see some sulking douchebag whining that super mario rpg, paper mario and super mario all stars didn't come out all at once, then the next week their expectations would get higher and higher. Ok guys, here's the thing, we people with open minds and who are real gamers and not just elitist morons who hate everything that isn't AAA nintendo, we hate you and wish you would take a chance and experience something new, or just avoid forums altogether.IronManRhino

Well, I hate to say this but I WAS really hoping that Paper Mario or Super Mario RPG would come out.  I never did like Actraiser or Kid Cameleon, never tried JJ and Jeff or w/e though.  I might get Diddy Kong though... :D

you will not be dissapointed.  The platforming can get a little rough in the later stages, so be sure to find all the magics hidden in the strategy stages, it's the best against the bosses(especially the comet magic).

Well worth 8 bucks!!

No, it's scattered out amoung all of them.  I'm pretty sure this is true although it's been years since I've played.  In at least one of the stages(maybe 2 of them) try shooting the temple with lightening...

I'm just sick to death of people coming on here and dissing every game that comes out if it's not what they're looking for. "Oh, it's not nintendo? NOBODY BUY IT, IT SUCKS!!" is basically most of the sentiment I've seen here, and if we want any chance of some really nice 3rd party titles on vc later, we can't just go about buying only nintendo games and not reading any reviews on any of the other games and taking a chance on buying them, I shouldn't have said I hate anyone, I just strongly dislike them.

Yayyy...Kid Chameleon. I was hoping that would come to the virtual console. My old cartridge won't work for some reason, even after I cleaned it. I had some fun times with that game.

Yet another week goes by without them releasing every single NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Turbografx-16, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox Xbox 360, arcade, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS, Game Gear, and PSP all in one download for 1 cent.  :(

:P

I'm going to download Kid Chameleon and maybe ActRaiser whenever I get more Wii points.

Actraiser was a sweet game back in the day. I'm definately downloading this one. On a different note, does anyone actually download these totally random Turbographix 16 games? I downloaded Bonk's Adventure and hated it, and have vowed to never download another Turbographix game. OtterX

Yea, I have gotten both bonks, Splatterhouse and Bomerman93, and I'll be picking up JJ & Jeff. these were some of the first games I've played and have more to them than what you may think, hidden items, secrets and great insider jokes.

splatterhouse was the sh** back in the day, especially to a bunch of kids.
And bonk was the mario of turbographix. Adventure and revenge were both serious mainstays at my friends house.
On a seperate note, I always wish I had turbographics 16, so this is awesome. I think it had more to do with whatever that handheld tubrographix system was-- the ability to play the exact same games on the system and console was so much nicer than anything else available back then.

Pity the screen size made any text reading nearly impossible and the battery life was horrendous. At least today you got rechargeable batteries that are pretty good. That handheld would drain batteries in a few hours while the wiimote can last 40 hours or more.

Anybody else come across this problem in Actraiser? I got to the final part where you fight the all the six monsters plus the final guy. When I saved my progress log in the sky palace I selected to not continue playing. The game seems to be stuck unless I get rid of the suspend data either by resetting it in the home button menu section or by transfering the save to a sd card then back into the wii. There is no way to get back to the start screen of the game otherwise. No amount of button presses etc.

Actraiser, don't think about it, it's a no brainer.
