Jeff Gerstmann and Ryan Davis did us all a really big favor and made a nice video comparison of Grand Slam Tennis and Virtua Tennis 2009 to show how each utilized Motion+. They also showed the new Tiger Woods game as well.

Overall, they felt that Tiger Woods and Grand Slam Tennis used MotionPlus really well. The same can't really be said for Virtua Tennis, they were saying that it didn't really utilize MotionPlus very well, the player had a lot more directional control with Grand Slam Tennis than Virtua Tennis.

I wasn't sure about which tennis game to pick up, but now I think I'm definitely going to get Grand Slam. The video is pretty long, but it shows the strengths and weaknesses of these 3 games, and how MotionPlus does or does not benefit these games. So if you're not so sure about MotionPlus or which of these games to get, you should definitely check it out at the link I posted:

FYI, they aren't using the wiimotes correctly in Virtua Tennis and they also have no idea that you don't have to press a button when syncing the wiimotes at the beginning of each game. Yeah, sorry, but this is the case with a lot of people for both games...they aren't putting the time into learning the controls.

Sorry, but this comparison is shallow and holds no water.

even still, think about this: Jeff's a lefty right? And he switched controllers with Ryan to see how the controls worked (Ryan is a righty and hence chose a player whos a righty)

in VT Tennis, this barely made a difference. however, you could tell in GST that jeff was having a lot of problems using his off hand which is because GST utilizes MotionPlus better

I rented VT and I really don't like it .. to me the addition of WM+ almost seems pointless.

HAHAHA ya they really do stink. But they definitely started getting the hang of the WM+ controls as the match went on (for GST)

they seem to suck at those games. M+ better work better than that! lol jk

So.... your character is controlled by the game? and all you do is swing away??? That's so lame, I hoped the Nunchuk was also made use of.

I dont remember if they said it or not cause I was loling at them at first

I'm 100% sure that you can control the player with the nunchuk in VT, I think that in GST too but not sure

If you don't have the nunchuck plugged in, the game will control where you move like Wii Tennis. If you have a nunchuck, you can move wherever you want :D
