Spellcheck. Anyway it's really stupid that media and whatnot put the blame on video games when Movies like Saw and TV shows just get away unscathed. It's really idiotic, I mean why the hell do you think they put the ratings on games for? Decoration?

Please you cant blame media for peoples pyschotic behavior. This is a problem that the person individually had, and whether they had never played a video game or seen a violent movie. They would still have the same urges and desires to act upon them. Like I dont think people decided to start the mafia after seeing the Godfather, or become a drug cartel after seeing scarface. These things already existed long before media of them, the same goes for murder, drugs, and all other horrible acts you can think of. And even if media did in some way effect some people, you cant regulate something that effects millions upon millions of people for the less than 1% that it does.

It used to be that movies were blamed, many years ago. Before that, they blamed comics.

It's just the most current trend.

Most Statistical studies find the greatest increase in violent and criminal behavior to correspond with the introduction of the television. When the television is introduced, there can be almost a 200% increase in crime and violent behaviors. No such changes correlate with the introduction of video games. Frankly, the damage has already been done.

Yes you should blame peers and parents, but violent videogames do increase testasterone. But it really depends upon the person.

I'd tell them "get over it... violence sells". And one more thing for Jack Thompson and others "gaming is an art form just like TV, painting, music, and literature".

It's simply the blame game. No one wants to be saddled with bad things being their fault. So they blame the next big thing.
