whilst on the topic - The virtual console controller looks like it would mount onto something on the back with a release. Anyone know what its for?

The Classic will be better for any NES, SNES, Genesis or TG16 games. I've found my GC wavebird to better for any N64 games. IMHO Sin and Punishment and Star Fox are unplayable on the Classic.

If you have SNES games you want pick up a Classic Controller

Everything else is best played on the Gamecube controller

Oh and the NES games? Turn the Wiimote sideways lol

If you don't have either controller you're better off getting a Gamecube controller so you can play Gamecube AND Virtual Console games since the Classic Controller can't play Gamecube games.

Oh, and the slots on the back of the Classic Controller are for nothing as of yet

Samulies

Nothing yet. I believe Nyko brought a small clip that fit into the mount and allows you to attach your Classic Controller to your Wiimote. No first party uses yet though.

I recommend a CC over the GC. Just because they are so pwetty :)

I only own SNES VC games, and so far the gamecube controller has worked fine for me. Sometimes the buttons are mapped kinda weird, but I'm used to the gamecube controller enough that it's no big deal. And it sure beats spending money :)

Well I use the Wii remote for NES games because it almost feels like a NES controller but the start and select buttons are hard to reach sometimes. Also the Wii remote is good for GENESIS games (ABC button games) but the A button is a pain to reach, the N64 will only work with Virtual Console controller or Gamecube controllers. I'm comfortable using the Gamecube controller on N64 games.

From all the reviews I get about the Virtual Console controller you should get it if you are a real active Virtual Console player, I have about 15 Virtual Console games and I'm still buying more games whenever I have a chance to buy more Wii points. Also the controller is only 20 bucks, what do you got to lose?

Since you have a GameCube controller you should just use that. It works just fine for me.
