It's great for those of us who played the games originally. Those that didn't though you might not like to take the step back in time. Some complain about the price as you can get most of these games on Ebay for less, but of course you need the original console and such first. And lately they haven't had any games I want to play on it. I played it a lot though the first 6 months I had my Wii.
EDIT: Note I said 'most' the really good games still fetch a big price on ebay.
How can backwards compatibility be a bad thing? The Wii emulates the old systems perfectly. My only complaint is how many obscure games get put on the VC. I guess Nintendo doesn't want to blow their wad and release their top games all at once.
