This problem just happened to me recently. I didn't do anything different from the last time I played and have tried resetting / restarting, and it still persists. When playing the game, on the right side of my screen a horizontal static line will scroll from top to bottom about every 20 seconds. It's just a line about a centimeter thick that quickly goes from top to bottom, like a glitch in the game or something. This problem just started occurring, after I was about 28 hours into the game. I know the problem is with the game because this line doesn't appear in any other games, or when I'm watching TV. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Any ideas to fix it? Thanks

My only suggestion would be to try to remove the game from your system and redownload it. That is a really weird occurance, and I've not heard of anyone else having it for just one game. Any chance the cable's just got knocked loose from your TV or something while you were playing?

If I re-download will I lose my saved game? I'm positive one of my TV cables isn't lose, because it only happens when playing Chrono Trigger. Every other game and tv channel is fine.

You shouldn't loose your save if you re-DL. I'm pretty sure the game and the save files are in seperate places. But look through you data in the settings to be sure.

I had the same problem with SMB3. It never got fixed. There's just a odd looking line down the left side of the screen about an inch think in some stages.

I'm not sure if save data for VC games is saved separately from the game data itself like it is with retail games. Check to see if you can find the save file somewhere on your console or SD card. If you find just a save file, then you should be safe to delete the game's data and redownload it without an issue.

I completely deleted the channel and re-downloaded the game. I still have the problem, so I have no idea what's causing it. What's weird is that it didn't start happening until I was nearly 30 hours into the game.

Hey guys, I fixed the problem. I called Nintendo tech support and they told me to start the game, go to the operations manual, hook up the nunchuck, and press Z + A + 2. Apparently that combination tells your Wii to use a different setting which is more compatible with newer TV's. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone else experiencing a similar problem.

That's frustrating...heavily enjoyed that game on VC last year.
