Anyone else here, like me, waiting for a price drop for the Wii before buying?

I don't know... $250 seems a little expensive for what you get.

I kinda wish Ninendo just released the new controller for the Gamecube with a bunch of new games.

When it's $150 I'll buy one....... maybe.

I think you might be waiting awhile. The damned thing is just selling too good at $250 for Nintendo to have a price drop. I know what you mean about it seeming like a lot of money for what you get (there are many games that look like they could be played on the GCN or worse), but the machine is something special in the right hands and, for me, worth every penny.

Cheap games from half a dozen other systems to download at anytime.... Oh, wait...

In all seriousness, waiting for a pricedrop is going to be a very long wait. I estamate it'll be more than a year and a half before you see any change in price. You are aware the Wii has been selling out in most stores, almost as soon as they arive? and for over a year now. You'd be lucky to find a Wii at $250.

Also, for someone who's avitar is a Famicom, you certanly are a stickler for graphics, comparing GC to Wii.

If you thought about it, at all, you'd realize that a game's graphics have very little to do with Wii's capability and more to do with games being rushed to market, lazy game developers and lack of effort(sorry NiGHTS 2). Most of the first party Wii games I've played look easly better than Xbox or PS2, let alone GC.

If Nintendo was smart, it would sell the Wii for $300 or even $350. Stop complaining, and buy it, or just stop spamming with these lame topics. There will be NO price drop!

There isn't going to be a price drop for a while, meaning probably not until next year. So you should just get the console now instead of waiting that long. And Wii has a decent catalog of good games so far. Zelda, Super Paper Mario, Galaxy, Metriod, Zack and Wiki, RE4. And more to come soon like No More Heroes and Brawl.

Before this thread goes any farther just look at the thread.

It's someone just trying to get under your skin, so far he's accomplished almost 2 dozen times. Don't add any more to the list.

Price drops are meant to boost sales. You can't sell more than 100% of your product, so Nintendo has no reason to drop the Wii's price.

It ain't gonna happen anytime soon. The Wii is the cheapest of the consoles and it's definitely worth it.

LOL, hope you like waiting because the only reason it would drop to 200 is if they stop bundling wii sports, which I dont think is going to happen. Nintendo making so much money, they can either spend their time:

A.) counting there money

or

B.) announcing a price drop

I think they would rather count.

You'll be waiting for a long time my friend. Stores can't keep them on their shelves at $250. Once the demand dies down for awhile they will drop the price. I'm guessing it'll come down sometime in 09. It's already super affordable.

I'm sorry... but you Americans are always saying "50, what a rip!"

Our games are $100, and the Wii costs $400 here.

But it's worth it. It's a better system than the GCN.

It's cheap relative to other consoles of this generation (and I think it is comparable to last gen isn't it?)

Everything seems to cost more in Europe, you've got a lot more socialism going on over there, and you have to pay for it somehow.

Honestly, what in the hell more do you freakin want?

nice graphics, next-gen dvd capabalities, a more robust third-party output, and, oh yeah, a lower price.

the wii is great, but c'mon man, you sound like a used car salesman.

The $400/$100 dollar price tag is what it costs in Australia. But I was lucky enough to get my Wii at AUD$368 from K-Mart a few days before Chrismas so YAY for me! :D

Well, you'll get better thrid party stuff and nice graphics when the developers actually try to make them nice, but if you want the HD or the HDDVD or Bluray, you'll have to get another one. Too bad for you, though, that they both cost at least 100$ more than the Wii.

I found my Wii in Iowa, 6 hours away, for 250$. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. If you want to complain about the Wii, look at the other systems. Not to say that they aren't good, but you're basically getting a steal on the Wii. Games are 10$ less (in the USA, at least) and the system is cheaper, too. If you want to be a baby and say it's too expensive, then don't get one. Your loss.

I do like the Wii, but it is very overpriced. Nintendo marks these up almost 200%. Other consoles lose money with each sale, only to make it up on software. Good business strategy? Yes. But honestly, its a high priced gamecube. You say its twice as powerful as the gamecube, but in all reality you won't see 'most' games that are even comparable to Xbox 1 games. It'll be a long time from now before we see a game look as good as Ninja Gaiden Black, Halo 2, and you'll never see graphics as good as Doom 3 on Xbox1. Its fault lies within the GPU. Its a higher clockspeed, but it still can't do what an Xbox1 could. The GPU is limited.

Who knows if Nintendo will even do a price drop... maybe they'll just add Wii Music in with Wii Sports and add another controller instead of a price drop.
