I ordered SSBB for $19.82 today and just got this email.. I gave them no such request to cancel my order.

The whole part about you requesting a cancelation is probably automated (so is the rest of the other message too lol). But the way they made it sound was that if they're unable to cancel your order you'll still get the game but i doubt they'll let that happen lol

if you knew Walmart was selling SSBB for 20 dollars and it was faulty labeling. Now they canceled all of the preorders they had and all the other games they had for lower prices. ANd now all the people are gona call the corrpate offices to honor thier pricng.

probably automated but it's sorta sad that they made it look like you asked them to cancel it.

It might have been better if they had just admitted that it was a mistake and given you the option to cancel it don't you think?

No matter how many calls are made by how many people, they WILL NOT honor that price, no matter how much you whine and moan. You see the laws on thier side so you cant do anything about it. It is in thier terms and conditions that they can correct thier mistakes risk free.

I hate Gamestop. Not only is it full of people who think they know everything there is to know about gaming, but people get ripped off there all the time. I go to Target for my games.

It all depends on if Walmart thinks that this will hurt their future returns with the customers.

I do know that it's going to take some calls, there's no way "Steve in customer support" fixes this one.

I know and thats what ticks me off the most... I called and talked to someone at walmart.com... she didnt seem to know much about the situation but she found out what department it was that cancelled the order and she said she was sending them a message to uncancel my order... I dont know if it all worked out or not but I will call again tomorrow and see if its still cancelled or not.

Piss on Wal-Mart! I used to be an Assistant Store Manager for them and worked for them for 10 years. They screw the customer every chance they get. It figures that they would not honor the price, even though it was THEIR mistake. That's false advertising any way you cut it. And people wonder why I left. Because they do this to their customers EVERY DAY. Their slogan is "Always"....just remember to mentaly add "screw the customer" to it when you see their commercials. And they used to make me fire people for no good reason when our payroll was higher than what corporate wanted. Nothing lke taking someones job away from them the week after Christmas! They (Corporate Wal-Mart) had me do things to people that I regret to this day. Don't shop there, just go to Best Buy or Target and you'll get the same price!

I'd stay away from BestBuy too...as they rip off the consumer just as bad to turn profit. Seriously, I worked there for a year. Daily meetings on how to scam the customer. And as far as customer service, NEVER give in. You were supposed to do whatever it takes until the customer got annoyed and left...jerks.

But yea, my order was just cancelled as well. Corporate will be hearing from me. Anybody wanna post corporates number?

Edit: Here it is guys. 1-800-925-6278 . Give them a call and get your game for the price you were shown!

That's 1-800-WAL-MART.........lol! Good luck getting ahold of a real human. Those pricks are so hard to get ahold of it's crazy. Even as a manager it was near impossible to get someone at corporate on the phone as far as talking to buyers, public relations, whatever. Good luck everyone!

Ive called and been given the run around...they basically blamed nintendo by the end... they first told me about their websites disclaimer but after that they said that whoever makes the game sets a price that they are not aloud to go under. If anyone gets them to give it to you for the 1982 please let me know how you did it... I did get off the phone with them but just because my cell was dieing, I'll be calling them again tomorrow.

Dude, Gamestop bought EB Games a long time ago... Anyway, the super-low Walmart price was just a mistake, and Wally World automatically canceled everyone who tried to order it. The deal was all over the FatWallet and SlickDeals forums, so hundreds (maybe thousands) of people ordered it.

How do people get ripped off in GS they charge the same prices as every other retailer. Now the whole employees being jerks well that is worldwide for all retailers not just gamestop. Actually they are more useful(depending on where you are) then the people who work the video game sections in like Target or Walmart. The GS near me is fine, real gamers who actually know something, and thier not jerks.

People get ripped off there for their buy-back program. I don't know why people do it, you get probably 10% (or less) of the value of the game from them...E-bay is much better.

True, but in my experience with Gamestop/EB Games employees they have this "mightier than thou" mentality and think they know more about games than anyone on the planet just because they work there. I frequently hear them give out false information and bunk release dates and specs to customers. Especially when they are trying to push a fulll pay on a pre-order of a game that is 6 months to a year away and they swear t's coming out next month. During the Christmas season (Oct.-Dec.) they were pushing Haze, MGS4, SSBB, Halo Warsand a few other titles that I knew damn well weren't worth paying for as they stillhad no solid release date.

Another thing I noticed is they try to get kids to spend their whole trade-in at once and not save any of it for upcoming games. But the thing that bugs me most is probably the fact that I was playing Atari 2600 in 1983 and these clerks weren't born until I was already jamming on my NES, Master System and possibly Genesis. Most of them started gaming with the Super NES or PS1 and even if they have knowledge from that point on they missed out on being here for the first 2 generations of console games. I missed Gen. 1 (Magnavox Oddysey, Stand-alone Pong, etc.) but at least I have read books and articles about what was going on and how this all came to be instead of sticking my nose up in the air and proclaiming that "(insert system name) roxorz teh wurld of gamez and evry1 is n00bface an Iteh 1337m4n!"

You can complain all you want, they aren't going to give it to you. The disclaimer on their website legally allows them to cancel the order. I made an order hoping they may honor it, but knowing they probably won't, so they didn't so back to my original plan of paying regular price for it somewhere lol
