It seems to me like the Wii U is just a next gen version of the experiemental gamecube/gba connectivity offered in a few games earlier in the millenium such as Zelda: Four Swords Adventures(remake/sequel on the way no doubt) and a whole bunch of other games. Can anyone else see the possibility of wireless 3ds and Wii U connectivity in the next few years?(THREE SCREENS!)

Connectivity between the Wii U and 3DS is just one feature. Clearly the main attraction is using the Console and controller to play Wii U centric games.

Your missing the point though, the WiiU controller is just a slave to the console, it doesn't have any thinking power or processing power meaning everything it does is a direct from the console, where as the GBA connectivity was a 'tethered' device which had to render and process its own graphics etc.

Yes I can see the connectivity between 3DS and Wii U, but the Wii U on itself is much, much, much more than the NGC - GBA link cable lol.

You have it all wrong. The Wii U's controller is not meant to be used as a portable gaming system like a 3DS or PSvita, the Wii U's controller has no processing power, it is nothing more than a controller that recieves a live video feed from the console from a limited distance (Im guessing anywhere inside a 2-3 bedroom house).

You guys are reading into the OP the wrong way. The gameplay that was created with the gba to gcn created some of the best multiplayer experiences I've had. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals 4 player anyone? Though it's looking like only one of those tablet controllers will connect to a Wii U at a time? lame...
