I'm confused. I thought this was a DSi exclusive, no? If it's not, how does the uploading/downloading of user-created microgames work?
wario ware diy was released on march 28 for dsand wario ware diy showcase was released a day later on wiiware. You can go and upload games from your ds to the wii to play on there (though you can only upload games you made) and download any game on the wii version to the ds to edit and play. As the name "diy showcase"might sugest you can ONLY play games not make or edit them.

You don't download the actual game, it can be played on any Ds system (it's agame cartridgeyou buy at a store). If you download Wario Ware showcase for the Wii you can play the games you made from the game and transfer the microgames to the Wii from a Ds. As for the user created microgames, you access them online using the online features featured in the game using your Ds.

So it is in no way a DSi only/(enhanced) game? I remember watching the DIY video a few weeks ago on this site, with the user created microgames--that was the game as it exists for the ds AND dsi? The other user sort of confused me further. All I need is a DS and the game--no wii, no dsi--correct?

You don't need a Wii, or a Dsi. You can have a regular Ds, Ds Lite, OR a Dsi.
