Was I the only one expecting a new pokemon?

When they said they would announce a new pokemon game I was expecting a REAL pokemon game, not that rangers spin-off.

If you followed Nintendo in the past you'd see how Ranger 1 came out for the holiday season then the new "traditional" Pokemon game came out in the spring right after.

This year it's going to be Ranger 2 this holiday season then a new "traditional" Pokemon game will come out next spring.

Since Platinum isn't even released in Japan right now Nintendo doesn't want people to look over other Pokemon franchises.

That's how they've run the franchise on the DS

um I actually have to say I would wish they make a little more innovation to Pokemon. Why buy a new one if it is exactly the same as the first one? Ok new pokemon is nice and online features, but that really isn't worth a purchase in my book. I want to see more, build off of the original formula. If all game sequels were like the Pokemon series, we would all grow tired of gaming very fast...
