I was just wondering if someone could tell me....the reciever box for the Wavebird controller, can you plug it into the Wii problem free? I keep imagining that you would have to somehow remove the plactic flap on the top of the Wii exposing the memory card slots and controller ports in order to make it fit.Does anyone use a Gamecube Wavebird controller when playing Wii games, or Gamecube games on their Wii?

It fits in fine and actually faces away from the plastic flap.

Should fit just fine. The plate on the top is supposed to be removed anyway if you are using the gamecube controllers when the Wii is Horizontal. Nintendo Wii Gamecube Controller Setup

Of course it fits! It would have been retarded if Nintendo would had made the gamecube controller ports in a way that their OWN  wireless controller woulnt fit well. That is like asking if the wii can play gamecube disks.

I use four Wavebirds for playing Smash Bros. Melee and N64 VC games.  I have all four receivers plugged in with no problem.  The flap does not need to come off, but if you wish you can easily remove both flaps that cover the ports for the GameCube peripherals.

Thanks everyone. I know it was kind of a stupid question, but I've never actually seen a Wii, nor do I know someone who owns one....
