I'm having this problem with my Wavebird wireless GC controllers.  They don't seem to be reacting as fast to my button-pressing, and I'm worried.  Normally I wouldn't be bothered, who cares? the Wii is out now.  but I am, mainly since in SSBB I will be using the GC controller.  Is it just me?  Or are any other people having this problem?  IS there anyway I can fix it?  Should I buy the regular wired GC controllers?  HELP!

That why Pro SSBM Players only use Wired controllers, because Wavebird have a Slight Delay between when you press the button and when the game reacts, in most game you can't notice it, but in some fighting games like SSBM it can slow down your raction time to the point where he lag can cost you a Life or even the match.

yeah, maybe I will pick up some wired GC controllers, (I'll try changing the batteries too, but I think what this guy said is true) and their only like, 5 bucks a piece now.

Wow. I've been using a Wavebird since 2003, and I've never noticed a delay at all. Although I've never played SSBM professionaly either.

Wavebird is one of the best wireless controllers there are. Unless you plan on playing professionally you shouldn't notice any difference, just change the batteries.

usually I don't notice it, but when I try to pull off some advanced combos I get a little delay.  For example, with Falco

Grab, throw down
reflector

jump up, kick.

when I try to do those three moves in rapid succession I notice a definite delay, which often [revents me from properly pulling off the combo

Well if you can find some wired ones for $5 buy them right away. I went to my local pawn shop and got two perfectly fine wired nintendo brand controllers for $5. The wires are kind of annoying, but they were cheaper than anything else i could find (they did have one wireless for $15 dollars. Not sure if it was a wavebird though, but i didnt buy it). Anyway, the nintendo wired ones work just fine for SSBM.

When it came out, the Wavebird was unique because it was the first wireless controller ever that worked as well as the wired one. I've never noticed any lag with the Wavebird.

Are you playing vc games on a HDTV? HDTVs are not good for gaming. They have a huge lag issue especially evidence on games that require twich button pressing such as Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
