I remember playing good ol' starfox on my 64, and I fail to comphrend why we have yet to see a proper star fox game staying true to the great formular it created. I bought StarFox Adventures years ago, thinking it would sucessfully combine the fox-out-of-his-cockpit with the classic fox-in-a-cockpit. Unfortunately I was wrong, save for 4 levels and a andross battle at the end. I then bought Starfox Command recently, big disapointment. Does anyone else anticipate a new starfox true to the 64 formular? I don't care if its on Wii-U or 3DS

assault was rather fun. the air portion was done superbly and the on foot moments weren't bad. multiplayer was pretty fun too, we'd always find new things to do in it (setting those firework things on top of titania desert with the help of a jetpack FTW). basically what i want is that the next game first: exists and second: uses an improved, refined version of the assault model.

Honestly, as much as I love Star Fox 64, rail shooters are a bit boring. I'd also prefer an improved Assault.

Play Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. It's pretty much a spiritual successor (pun not intended) to the Star Fox games, and it's much more intense than SF64 ever was.

Starfox Adventures was fun, kinda like zelda but different. But... its a completely differernt game from star fox 64. Fox wasn't even meant to be in the game, the original project was an almost identical game titled: Dinosaur Planet for the N64. But they made a mistake when making it at the end of N64s life, problems arised and nintendo suggested to RARE (I think its them who made it) to use Fox McCloud, given he is a fox too. Everything about the game shows that the Star Fox crew weren't meant to be part of the game. (Hes not allowed to take his blaster with him? c'mon...) And the fight against that evil dude I forget his name being cut off. So really, Starfox Adventures too me isn't starfox... its just Dinosaur Planet N64 with better graphics and with Fox tapped to it.

IIRC, it was Myamoto who originally suggested that the main character in Dinosaur Planet looked like Fox, then Nintendo realized that it would be a safer business decision to make it into a Star Fox game, which tied up it's development time and was responsible for it being on the GameCube instead.

Well, the same can be said about Kirby's Epic Yarn, and it's the best Kirby game.

They're dead, nothing more then a 5 dollar arcade game, asking full retail for one is awful

Nintendo has hopefully learned from Sin and Punishment's route, unless they're a mini game in a bigger much better game there's no reason to make it

What the hell? No...Ok, I agree most Star Fox games are a little pricy for what they are, but that's becasue they are soshort, not because they are rail shooters. Star Fox 64 3D can be beaten is an hour, so yeah $40 is a lot for that. But all that's really needed is to increase the length and add online multiplayer and it would be great.

But I do think some more variety would be great too. Assault was a great concept, though a little flawed. I would love to see an improved version of that concept.

Quite the opposite, we are the most enlightened of Kirby fans. We do not believe in silly smoke and mirrors.
Pun fully intended
Absolutely. Starfox 64 was one of the greatest games of all time. I still play it. All starfox games after it just haven't lived up to it. Assault only had a few arwing missions, and adventure had ONE. Starfox is a pilot, and nothing else. It's time he had a new game that isn't a remake of 64, but lives up to it.
