Many of us know that hackers can easily bypass a WEP secured network. My brother doesn't want to chnage the security so is there any way I can still get wifi at home with my DS?

Is your brother really that concerned that someone is going to sit outside your house and leech off your wireless? Yes, an experienced user can hack a WEP key without much trouble and the right equipment, but you really have to ask yourself: is anyone going to bother? Really, what's the likelihood? If you live in an apartment complex, I guess I can see the point, but if you're in a house, the person would literally have to be in your yard or at most a house or two down in order to steal your wifi. WEP is just fine for most people.
If he refuses to change it, you can still use wireless with your DS, provided you have a computer with Windows XP. Just buy the Nintendo USB WiFi dongle. You can probably find one for in the neighborhood of 20 bucks, and they work pretty well.

That won't make it work with WPA encryption...

I think you need to put the WEP key in the wi-fi configurations (i dont quite remember how to do it, fixed the wep problem just putting the wep key), and just put what the guy up there recommended, it might works for you (it worked for me). Dont forget to test :)

WEP is useless. He'd be better off just to not broadcast the SSID or limit the connection by MAC address'.

Again, WEP is *not* horrible. It's just not that secure. But honestly, no one is going to steal your wifi or hack your network. I promise. Everyone parades around thinking they're smart for saying how crap WEP is, but no one thinks about the fact that there are simply not people on every corner that are willing to put the effort into hacking your personal wireless network. I agree that he should just not broadcast the SSID (limiting connections by MAC address would be a pain in the butt) - but that's not really any more secure than having WEP protection. Everyone gets their panties in a bundle over this stuff, but it's really an overblown concern.
And to all the people suggesting that he put the WEP key into his DS. PLEASE *READ*. His brother thinks that WEP security is not secure enough, so he's using WPA, which is incompatible with the wireless B standard, which is what the DS uses.
