I know we're a bit far from this but I figured this would keep me fixed till then... The first thing, and I cannot stress this enough, is more over night activities... There was hardley anything to do after 9PM and I don't touch the clock so I waited it out... I would also like to see some more done with the coast other then fishing and scavaging.. Maybe some scuba or boating or surfing ect... I also thought it would be sweet to be able to keep a job.. Make a little extra bells everyday plus something to do.. Give me some more ideas so I can dream tonight...

I always felt that the game was a little boxed in. I loved the GCN version, and I thought it was cool that you could travel out to the island by connecting your GBA, but I think this game needs a bit more of that.

The city in City Folk felt pointless and too small.

I like your idea of scuba and/or boating. That would give you more of a chance to get out of that boxed in feel too. I think generally it needs to have your town with more activities, and then also some more places to visit (like a bigger city, more islands, neighbouring cities that are controlled by NPCs).

And also since the 3DS has the ability to easily get updates, maybe the NPCs can be updated every now and again to give you more and new interesting activities. I disliked how in AC you would eventually know what everyone is going to say and everything just repeats itself.

Finally, I think the 3DS could do some cool things with spot pass, and hopefully a seemless online experience (I disliked how I had to get friend codes constantly and the load times to get to another city).

@trugs26: First, let me say I love your pic... Tool is god... I felt exactly the same way, it seemed very small and boxed.. But I think theres a lot of room for expansion with spot pass and street pass... Hopefully we will see some really noticeable changes in the gossip and residents themselves...

Being able to see when your friends are online.

Also having more than 3 people in your town.

And voice chat.

  • The Animals need more dialog, I dont want to hear them repeating themselves after only playing the game (brandnew) for a few days
  • I want to be able to ask the animal for a job rather than hoping for the random event that they'll ask me for help
  • Make your character taller and make the furniture not as... bulky
  • give Tomnook pants
  • more hair styles, and make it simpler to get the hair style you want
  • more emotions/ actions (I dont know what they are called, the things that that weird animal gives you after talking with him in wild world and the guy who tries to be funny in city folk) and make it where you can have more of these emotions at once

thats all that I have right now...

They should have an online lobby. So many something like the city in City Folk except obviously drastically enlarged and you can see and chat with anyone online and in the lobby at the time and then add them to your list and invite them back to your town. And I wanna be able to design more than t-shirts. It looks like you can design shorts now as well but I want jeans and hoodies and stuff as well. And maybe design hats that don't look like something a viking would wear. But I think the most important thing that should be added is more areas to access.

All I want is a better soundtrack. It wouldn't be to bad if they used the Gamecube versions music.

Thanks. Yeah, Tool are awesome. I know it's off topic but I must say I can't for their new album this year.

Anyway, on topic, I think the transition from the GCN version to the Wii version was poor form from Nintendo. Essentially they added the city and online, the rest was practically the same game. I still enjoyed it, but I just felt like I was playing the same game all over again.

Here's hoping that the new AC takes a bigger step this time.

I would like something different from the usual, like what rune factory did for harvest moon. Add a cave or something to find money or lost stuff from the animals.

Well we already know we will be the Mayor in the game

I'd like user generated houses, landscapes, etc.

And up to 10 or more players in one town at a time online. I mean, it isn't a demanding game at all. If comparable other handheld consoles can pull off FPS with 16-32 players online with kill streaks, different weapons, headshots, etc then Nintendo can pull off fishing, shoveling, planting, fly catching with 10 people or so in Animal Crossing

Voice Chat of course. And some more mini-games, like places to go in town like a Pool Hall, a Bowling Alley, and perhaps a Baseball field for short baseball games, maybe a B-Ball court and Tennis. What, its a friggin' town, people need things to do!

That and the scuba thing makes sense as well, maybe you can actually swim? A boat, in which you can sail to your friends islands? Like you can design an island, and leave it independant of your own city, thus making money off it (rent from NPCs and $ from your friend buying good or playing events while visiting it, or maybe everyone in the world downloads it and all the $ they spend in it goes back to you in your game) so that you can afford new things and events as Mayor to keep your town livley. Like the more money you have, then you can pay someone (an NPC) to take care of weeds so you don't have too (maybe just one job via an NPC per town, like you can only assign an NPC to do one job, fishing, fly catching, or weed pulling) and then the money you make also makes the prizes better for events, thus making your NPC residents happy and they never want to leave. And then it could count how many days you go without a single NPC being upset and leaving

Ok, I went a bit off with that

more dialogue

more furniture/collectables -they shouldn't take anything out from previous games, only add more

more interactivity with furnature -If i buy a pool table I should be able to play some kind of pool mini game

more events -I like the fishing tourney ect just make more monthly/yearly events like that

some kind of online marketplace -where you can auction collectables, sell your shirt designs and get the latest dlc event items

more than six people in a town at a time

varied towns -when I go to someone else's town I don't want to see the same stores just moved on different spots on the map. Maybe the questions you answer at the beginning of the game should change what variation of stores your will see in the town

Remove the City. Go back to having events occur in the town.

More regular activities besides just fossils, bugs and so on. Also, have animals discuss tips with you for getting some of the harder to get bugs and fish, as unlike fossils I never complete either of those collections, and I'm not interested in following FAQs to find out how I can. Plus, it'd mean the animals would be saying something a bit more meaningful.

Have animals in attendance when KK Slider plays so it's not just the player, and have them visiting the coffee shop in general so it's not so rare to actually see someone else in there. Better yet, turn it into a pub (yeah not a chance in hell, but it'd be funny).

Utilise spotpass to update dialogue every now and again, have a 'dialogue patch' where much of the more conversational dialogue gets updated so it doesn't get boring.

I very, very much doubt this will happen as it'd involve a fair amount of work, but make house items more worthwhile. Make it so that you can play a simple game of pinball on the pinball machine (in a perfect world of fanservice, model it on Revenge of the Gator? :P), a darts mini-game on the dartboard, if you buy a train set, maybe have a mini game where you can construct the track or whatever. Like I say, a lot to ask for given how many items there are in the game, but it's a pain to make a room that effectively has no use once it's been built.

Rather than having that tiny little bedroom to save, just let your character get in a normal bed to achieve the same effect. As I've mentioned, too many house items are too ornamental, and could be made much more interesting by having more of them perform a function, or making them more interactive. Plus it seems weird that you can carefully construct a bedroom that looks really good, but when you actually go to sleep/save in the game, it's in that little bed in the attic.

I like the idea of having more activities after 9pm, i usually play after 8 and theres not much to do! Other then that i would like to maybe design my own house, more customization would be really good.

I would love to see an "I'm on vacation" option so I don't have to obsessively play the damn game every ... single ... day ... At the very least I could put it aside for a month without my town going to hell.

Oh yeah, I would also like it if more than 15 animals could live in your town (if I remember correctly, in population growing, there could be 15 living in your town at once I believe, in wild world and city folk, I have never been able to get the number of residents above 8. I would also like to see a piece of furniture similar to the NESes that you could get in population growing that would allow you to play a spacific NES title, but in the new animal crossing, rather than a NES (since its games are already on VC, and I assume a few will make it onto the 3DS's vc), make it a virtural boy. Something else, that I should have probably put into my first post, is that you should be able to buy different shorts/ pants (since from what I saw from the few pictures of Animal crossing 3DS, your character is taller) and also be able to design paterns to be used for shorts/ pants.

Also add something unexpected. Animal crossing population growing, and wild world, were both great in my oppinion, but City Folk, that was too similar to wild world, I believe they could have added alot more to it, besides the city.

Romance options?

More to do in the games, period. Most people just go fishing or digging up fossils with friends, then get bored with it and stop playing after a while. Collecting furniture is fun, but it can only hold one's attention for so long.

1) Hopefully include ALL the holidays from the Gamecube and Wii version

2) Add places to explore around your town, like maybe they could add an old mansion you could explore, or even explore with an animal neighbor during halloween ( a person can dream :D)

3) Maybe have an island like the Gamecube version, and as others have stated here.

Hopefully Nintendo will add many new things that will satisfy long time fans of the AC series, and newcomers as well =D

Honestly that one of the best ideas ive heard yet. Animal Crossing needs more mini games to do with neighbouring animals. So far all they have is crappy hide-and-seek games and some occasional competitions where you have to find a fish/bug/fossil before another animal. They need some more mini games that build relations with other animals
