I am a big fan of Nintendo since the first release of the NES. I have all the nintendo consoles and alot of games with mostly all the classic games like Zeldas and Marios but also sports games. I am very interested in buying a Wii soon but I couldnt get one yet. Because the Wii is so cheap, I tought I could buy maybe 3-4 games to start with it. I couldnt try the Wii yet so I don't know what games are really worth having right now. I am pretty sure I would get the new Zelda since I am a big fan and I also heard it is amazing. But I am not sure about the other 2-3 games I should get!...

Please if you have any suggestion for me I would appreciate it :P

I'm also getting a Wii soon, and i'm buying Zelda (of course:roll: ),  and Warioware, you should give Warioware a try, it looks really fun!

P.S. You could wait for super paper mario, it's coming out april 9.

Recommended: Trauma Center, Wario Ware, SSX Blur, and Sonic. But you should definitely get Super Paper Mario when that comes out.

I started with Zelda, but when with friends - Wii Sports, Super Monkeyball and even single player Trauma Center are the games played. Probably get WarioWare later to add to the party games list.

If you like sports games at all give Madden a look.  Jukes, double jukes, quick stops, and throwing lob passes to the corner of the end zone all feel great.

I already have Wii sports, Zelda, and Rayman, so I don't want minigames like wario,I was thinking on buying COD3 or Medal of Honor, but I heard that SSX is quite fun... I hope you guys help me to decide what game to buy to my birthday.

Ps: I H8 trauma center....

Since you are getting a new Wii, I would suggest Wii Play. It's a lot like Wii Sports in that it has a lot of smaller more casual multiplayer games. Its a great deal. The fact that its $50 and comes with a Wiimote makes it a great deal for someone who needs a second Wiimote. The Wiimote by itself is $40, you get the game for $10 more. Great Deal. Games that are good: Zelda WarioWare Smooth moves Rayman Rabbits game Excite Truck

I see alot of people talking about WarioWare. I've looked at some reviews of the game and it looks pretty fun! GameSpot even rate it as one of the best Wii games so far! Over 200 mini-games, looks like a great multiplayer game for hanging out or to party. I think I bought the idea...

 Zelda + WarioWare + ? + ?

Some people are talking about Super Mario Paper... Honnestly I never heard of it before. Looks fun thought and since I'm a big fan of Marios, I would probably be interested in buying this title. Is there anybody who can give some extra information about this title? That would be great!

Trauma Center? The concept looks great but I am affraid the game would become repetitive after a while ... I'm probably wrong but that's the impression I have. I'm still thinking about this title thought, the idea of the game is excellent.

Anything else? :D

If I could only get 4 games for my Wii, they would be Zelda, Trauma Center, The Godfather (I've only rented it but I'm having tons of fun with it) and probably Super Paper Mario. Not to hype it up too much, but I bet it will be better than all 3 of the games previously mentioned.

godfather, maybe zelda, don't get warioware unless you intend to play lots of multiplayer or you like completing games in 2 hours, red steel you could get if you want an fps (better than COD3, probably better than MOH vanguard)

if you're scared of trauma centre getting repetitive, then don't get warioware, that's even more repetitive, it's only good for little blasts with friends, then you get bored again, for single player it's absolutely rubbish.

Well if I get 4 games, I'd like to have one multiplayer game. Is Trauma Center mostly single or mutliplayers?

Again, I am aware that WarioWare is 100% multiplayer... I don't mind if the game is repetitive if it's multiplayer because now it's mostly the players interaction that is the most fun! But I don't want to by a repetitive single player game :|

WarioWare is multiplayer, one Wii-mote for up to twelve players. It's crazy speed keeps it from being that repetitive. I'd also get HeatSeeker and Super Paper Mario when they come out in april. Those two look really good.

Zelda, of course, for single player action. Multiplayer is also available in Wii Sports, and it's not that bad. Personnally, Excite Truck is awesome, and Red Steel is good, too. Red Steel single player isn't that fun to go back to, (Not completely boring, but not exactly fun) but the multiplayer, especially when you have 4 people, is radical.

As for future games, other than the two above, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Maybe even Pokemon, just for the wifi. It's pokemon, it may be a bit annoying, but it's not like it's a bad game.

Just to clear something up : Trauma Center is not a multiplayer game. I suppose you could take turns trying for high scores on the same file, but it's still not multiplayer. Also, I have WarioWare, and think it's a great game, but I would not buy it for multiplayer. That's the one game nobody wants to play when they come to my house. It just doesn't have a very fleshed out multiplayer experience, and usually your skill has nothing to do with winning.

So you mostly play WarioWare by yourself? Why do you think it's a great game when most of the people say it's only fun when played multiplayer? In other words, what are the great things about single player mode in WarioWare?

Ok so I just bought my Wii on eBay now. I'll receive it TOMORROW :D and I want to buy three games! For now I have chosen two games. I don't know about the third one.

1- Zelda: Twilight Princess

2- Super Paper Mario

3- ?

Can anyone help me on this one? :)

I finally received my Wii today and I bought Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario and Wii Play (Mostly for the extra Wiimote)... oh and Wii Sports of course. I also bought myself a Classic Controller with a Virtual Console 2000 points card so I can purchase a couple of old school games.

I think it is a good startup kit :D

Yeah, definitely a pretty good start up kit. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Wii Play. It's fun to play with friends but its still not more fun in multiplayer than wiisports. The extra controller makes it a decent buy though, and if you play with your friends a lot its certainly a worthwhile game to own.

Still though, Wario Ware, in my opinion, would have been the better game to pick up. The single player is 10x more fun that Wii Play's and the multiplayer isn't half bad either. Either way though, as long as you have Super Paper Mario, Zelda, and Wii Sports you should be set-though you should definitely check out WarioWare when you get the chance. Enjoy your Wii, man.

I rented WarioWare last weekend and I didnt fell in love with it. Was great fun for a while but I can't see myself playing over and over on sgle player mode. Definitly a great multiplayer game though! I am glad I didn't get it first simply because I didn't have the money to buy Zelda, Mario and another big game. That's why I got Wii Play... I don't really like it to be honnest but it can be fun with friends once in a while. I wanted to give it a try for $15 more than a Wiimote... that's very cheap and even if the game is not so good. :P

I am very happy with my startup kit for now :) Next, probably Mario Party 8!
