i dont understand why people dont like the speaker in the wiimote. I like it a lot. LCD screen is a bad idea, i dont use wrist straps. I like pressure sensitve buttons though, like the L and R buttons on the gc. Those worked really in some games. 5. Bigger d-pad (perhaps separate the 4 directions as well) and relatedly, some of the buttons could be more accessible.

I think they like the concept of it, but the quality of it is very bad.

Why I like the remote in the speaker:

1. You can tell when it is your turn in multiplayer games, such as Wii Golf/Wii Bowling.

2. Can be used for special, extra sound effects, such as the "You-Completed-A-Puzzle" sound in Zelda, or the awesome cell phone use in Red Steel 4-player.  It would be a great medium for the codec noise in a MGS game!

3. Can add another layer to surround sound, such as hearing the ball bounce of your racket in Wii Tennis or the sound of reloading a clip in Red Steel.  These types of sounds do not needto be high quality.

Why I do not like the speaker:

1.  Too many games try to use it just because it is there.  Even the sword swinging noise in Zelda felt slightly tacked on by the end of the game.

2.  The quality is low, but doesn't need to be hi-fi to be used well. (Once again, the "It's-Your-Turn!" ping is a great example, and could be used well in games such as Mario Party)

I feel that more games need to use it for low-key effects; it really makes a huge difference!

That ping will be really annoying if it distorts, like the chest opening sound in Zelda, along with others, that is just an example. The don't have to be hifi, but they sure should be able to create a sound that doesn't sound like a chainsaw.

The buttons should definitely be pressure-sensitive! I didn't even notice that they weren't until I played The Godfather... I was trying to lightly press the accelerator and you just can't. It's all or nothing.

I have no complaints about the Wii so far besides that. The lack of it is just plain asinine!

Better speaker and maybe get a tiny analog stick on there that might be used for mainly camera control in games and other stuff.

Its the games i think need changing not the remote. Like in red steel the remote is accurate enough for me to put the curser/target over any part of an enemy before i shoot, liturly i can put the target on ear, nose, mouth, knee, foot anything. But the trouble is the enemies don't react to each shot, the enemy has like 2 hit points head, body, even the legs don't realy get a different reaction. Enimies need a hundred reactions to a hundred possible hit points on an enemy. Until a game puts that in the wii remote is going to waste big time.

I think pressure sensitive buttons and stronger rumble would make it better.
