I just bought the game this weekend, it's pretty fun, and the levels are at least 4 times longer than New Mario Bros(no exaggeration).

I just got to world four and played the first level, and it jumped in level of difficulty by a lot! That's good for me because I breezed through the first three worlds. It isabout 90% similar to the one on the GBA, which is also good.

Do you guys feel thesame way about the game?

I thought the game was pretty fun. I loved the SNES version of the game, so this game was no exception

It's much better than NSMB in my opinion. Every level adds something new, even well into the game. It's a lot of fun, and the sound that your DS makes when you close the lid is cute. :)

Yoshi's Island DS is pretty much Super Mario World 3, since the first one was Super Mario World 2.

You know, I was just about to ask the same question... somehow I skipped Yoshi's Island.. I got 13 DS games, and I was wondering if YI was worth getting.

It's alright but the difficulty level is insane.

It's pace is slow, but it still manages to be pretty hard. Some of the boss battles are cool, though.

i love it. it gets hard, so be prepared to die a lot. but hey, thats what good platforming should be. practice and repetition!

The bosses are entertaining, and the levels are really great.:D Way better than NSMB imo.

I thought it was great, it is a half step down from the original, but still a worthy purchase at the time. I sold it after completion however. I didn't think it was that hard, yes there is trial and error in some areas, but I thought the difficulty was just about right.

It's no "New Super Mario Bros." but it's ok, i sold my game because it gets boring, once you finish the game.. there's absolutly nothing to do...

It's a lil childish too, not a big fan of Yoshi...

I don't know, but I always liked the old yoshi better

I think its cause the difficulty built up to each boss. In this one each level is extremely hard, and suddenly you play a boss level and your like.... okay w/e

Also I hate back tracking to much unless the back tracking is alot of fun, and i just don't enjoy it. It is a well made game, but not my style.

Hated it. I loved the original, but I found this one to be boring and way too easy. Sold it back.

It's a fun game, but it can get annoying sometimes if you're trying to get 100%.

I loved the game. I still can't understand why people say it was hard though. Yes the later levels get harder, but they aren't insane hard, or really that hard at all.

The game isn't bad at all, however I didn't really like the level design. It's not exactly the 2D platformer you'd expect from Mario/Yoshi... IMO they had some great ideas but they pushed it a little too far.

What they would have needed was some 'important' tester with the backbone to say: "hey guys, this is great and all but you really need to polish this game and bring it back to its basics."

I had fun while i had it since last christmas up until last month, after it sat there collecting dust in my room for months. I traded it to gamespot for 10.00 to pay the rest for my PSP Slim.
