I'm calling $299 as well but I don't think being 2-3 times as powerful as current HD consoles is as bad as some make it out to be
I initially said $300 as well. But for some reason, after the demo and seeing the tablet in action and the fact that it's an HD console, I'm worried it'll be closer to $400. I think that would not bode well for them to have a console that expensive. Reggie in an interview with IGN said we would be really surprised (in a good way) with the price so I prey for under $300.
I think it will be $300. I would like it to be $250.DJ_Lae
Well Iwata said last year it would be more than 20,000 Yen which is $250 USD but we all know just drops the Yen and turns it into a dollar
So if Wii U is 25,000 Yen ($300+ USD) it could be $250 because
Wii-25,000 Yen ($300) ended up $250
3DS-25,000 Yen ($300) ended up $250
I'd still bet on $300 though
It lacks multimedia functions and a hard drive and it's not a huge jump in graphics, so $300 is the most logical guess.

It has faster flash memory storage expansions via 4 USB ports or SD, it will have Amazon Instant, Netflix, YouTube and Hulu and I' sure more as time goes on

Honestly, that's fair. Casuals don't need a huge HDD that to them, would be useless and would jack up the price, scaring them off. If someone wants a HDD, they can buy it themselves, and they're providing plenty of USB ports for it to work out. In this way, Nintendo gets to sell their consoles at a lower price, especially compared to their future competition who will undoubtedly carry large HDDs making them more expensive.
While I was genuinely disappointed when I first saw the Wii U, the more I think about it, the more I like the direction Nintendo is taking it. Affordable, but modern, and with a healthy range of games.
How dso you know it lacks multimedia functions? It would be silly for them to not include a music or video function. It lacks multimedia functions and a hard drive and it's not a huge jump in graphics, so $300 is the most logical guess.

On one site here in the UK you can pre-order the WiiU for £279.85 (£279.99 RRP) and the games for £39.85 (£39.99 RRP). I do think that will be the price of the games as it matches the PS3/360 game prices, however I think the WiiU itself will be abit lower at £250. If it does turn out to be that price here that would mean it would be about $300 in the US.
I think the hdd will have to be bigger then most of are thinking.
The WII U will have to support DLC and we all know how big those are.
Also we have to think about all the app and add on that might come to the consel.
dont forget about the downloadable content from there online store.
on the down note. it looks like it will not support blu ray. but itwill keep the price down
also we are forgetting all the accessoriesthat are going to come with the unit.
at most it should come with the wii u controller.
i cant really say what the price is going to be butif it about 250. that would be amazing.
