I'm planning to get one of my friends a ds game for christmas. I'm not sure what games girls like though, she mentioned to me she hated zelda so I'm already at a loss. She has pokemon, harvest moon and rune factory. The only trend in the games she plays is that they all involve enslaving monsters :P What do you guys/girls think is a good game?
It's a common misconception that girls like girly games. It's totally up the person's taste of games, not their gender.
If she likes games that involves 'enslaving monsters' then get Dragon Quest Monster: Joker

That is so true. Im a woman and love games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, Halo, Assassin's Creed, ect. as well as games like Pokemon. You said she likes monster games so as stated Dragon Quest Monster: Joker would be good as well as Digimon World Dawn/Dusk. Also you said she has pokemon...does that mean Pokemon Diamond/Pearl? If she doesn't have Pokemon Mystery Dungeon that would be a good one too.

Well if she likes enslaving monsters, she might also mildly enjoy barking orders around :P; I'd say maybe some strategy games, but I haven't kept myself well informed with that genre on the DS as well as I should have.
I actually bought my mom a Nintendo DS for Christmaas last year. She can't get enough of Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Brain Age,and Tetris DS.dragonic_man

strangely enough my female friend never battles me, she refuses everytime I ask her and yet she has made a ditto harem for the sole purpose of breeding beastly pokemon with the right IV's and natures. Stat wise her pokemon can destroy mine, but I've never once seen her do a multiplayer battle.
Puzzle Quest. It's a great RPG, it's got monsters you can fight or tame. Plus you can fight as a male or a female. It's a great game and I highly recommend it.
Or if she wants to wait, HM is supposed to be coming out with HM (female version) in February.

She might like Nintendogs, or even New Super Mario Bros.... Other than that, your biggest mistake would be to get her a super girly game, such as Pony Friends or whatever, unless she likes that sort of thing. If she likes RPGs, Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings and the remakes of the Final Fantasys are a good bet. Or you could just casually ask her one day what kind of games she likes. For example, you could say, "Oh I bought this game, what do you think of it?" If she seems interested in it, consider buying it for her.
2nd... i`m girl... being playing for the last 20+ years and recently got a DS. I got the DS bc of the castlevania series.
It depends on what type of game she likes. for what i can see she may enjoy games with RPG feature. So maybe mario and luigi partners in time (imo great game) and games on that line.

Hahaha... I know a chick who would pwn some of you guys with Sylux until you cried like wee little babies. I'll go out on a limb and recommend the Strawberry Shortcake games.
