Hardcore game: Devil May Cry 3
Non hardcore game: Babiez
Of course many people have different definitions of hardcore. THere is such a thing as hardcore and casual. Plenty of review sites and tv shows use these two words. For games and sports.

No, there is no such thing as a "hardcore" game. There are "Mature" games, and there are games for everybody. "Hardcore" can only be applied to gamers, not games. How can an inanimate object be "hardcore" at something?[QUOTE="Hungry_Jello"][QUOTE="Haziqonfire"] No, there isn't.bob_newman

No, there is no such thing as a "hardcore" game. There are "Mature" games, and there are games for everybody. "Hardcore" can only be applied to gamers, not games. How can an inanimate object be "hardcore" at something? Technically there is no hardcore game. But its used so much by gamers and developers and everyone so its pretty much now has two meanings. Hardcore=Mature gameIf you play hardcore, even Wii Sports can be hardcore. (i.e. getting pro in every single sports, getting gold medal in every training, etc. i think that's either pretty hardcore, or u are just exteremely bored) Hardcore is more of "how the player plays game", and core is "how the game appeals to its mass" that's how i think when it comes to hardcorefunsohngi think you're right actually i think that some games are designed for hardcore players but most games can ust be played in a hardcore way like harry potter and the chamber of secrets - getting everything in that game is definitely hardcore, unless you use a guide and a game like cod waw on easy, anyone can pickup and play but on the last 2 difficulties, it's one of the most hardcore adrenaline games ive ever played (it's also annoying s hell with grenade spamming retard nazis and a broken gda)
devil may cry's core, not hardcore it appeals to the masses, it's forgiving and it's way too flashy a game like ninja gaiden is hardcore since it's difficulty is a such a barrier that only die hards will stick with it madworld is probs hardcore, it's too niche, over the top and impossibly hard on hard mode (no, i couldnt be assed to get it) anyways... no more heroes ds maybe, possibly the grinder i would say silent hill, but apprently they're making it to appeal to the masses so i assume it must be forgivingAdmiralWolverin
DMC 4 was a bit forgiving but not the third. That game threw everything at you plus more on DMD mode.

How can an inanimate object be "hardcore" at something? That distinction does not exist either, any game can be played by anyone, as a large part of the rated M audience is made of prepubescent kids. There is simply games, games you like, games you don't, there are no hardcore vs causual games, there are no mature vs everyone games, they are all just games, some will appeal to a larger audience than others, some will appeal to a particular demograph but in the end they are all just games.Little King's Story. Seriously. This game may look kiddy, but it was created for gamers and carries a "T" rating for language and alcohol references. I find that hilarious and awesome.

I just meant literally, there are games with an "M" rating on them, and games with an "E" rating on them.

There also games with T ratings on them, I know what your were saying but like I said ratings mean absolutely nothing, many, many kids play M rated games so even a ratings distinction is meaningless. Its probably more meaningless than the whole hardcore vs causal distinction.Sin & Punishment 2 (Everything Treasure makes are Hardcore.) Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Vanillaware's games are hardly heard of so they can be classified as Hardcore.)
