i got my girlfriend a ds and tetris ds, she loves it and we can play it online together from home. so that's cool. really it depends what kinda girl you got, mine was a gamer when i met her so she likes a broad spectrum of games, maybe yours has different tastes. but really, who doesn't like tetris? and DS is the perfect version of it.
I have 2 little sisters (12 and 5) and they like: Nintendogs, Super Princess Peach, Yoshi's Island DS, New. Super Mario Bros., and (my 5 yr old sister especially) Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie & the Amp. Now keep in mind that I haven't played any of these except for Yoshi's Island DS and New. Super Mario Bros. so I can't vouch for how good the other ones are, they're just what my sisters like.
i think that cooking mama is probably a good game for girls, but any game is good for girls theres no "right" game. I think girls are cool but can play the same stuff as guys. theres like disney games like hannah montana or thats so raven if your into those kind of games.
she is 13 and shes my younger sister. she wants a dslite but she doesnt know what games she likes since shes never played any. I tried recommending her some games but she didnt seem to like them.

I'm a girl and I'm 20, I love Mario games, but everyone is different, I have Mario Kart, Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros, they are all really good games, I also want Brain Age and Tetris DS, hope this helped
strategy=tetris plain and simple. oh ya and I heard they have a game coming out with internet puzzles like bejeweled ect.
platformer= any mario. they are all great
RPG= soon to be pokemon (she might not be interested if shes showing her friends and if they hate pokemon) mario and luigi partners in time, final fantasy3 or my inuyasha if she likes intense strategy where she's pretty much there just for strategy but it has great adventure, i personally love it
side scrollers= castlevania but she might not be in to it if she doesnt like fighting creatures from dungeons and if not, kirby, yoshi island, new super mario bros, or super princess peach, maybe even spiderman2 if she wants a REALLY hard game
that's all I can think of at the moment I will post again if I think of others
nintendogs...animal crossing...brain age...super princess peach...new super mario bross..there are a lot actually....:D im sure she is gonna LOVE NINTENDOGS...!!!
It all really depends what's she's into doing, if she likes her pets for example then Nintendogs is a good choice, if she likes her rhythm games then Elite Beat Agents might be a good choice, if she likes her mystery murder tv shows then you should get her Phoenix Wright :) It's all really what she's into. Some research wouldn't hurt :)
:lol: i'm not sure how exciting she'd find Exctiting Witch Trials. i think it'd be a bit more appropriate for a dude... y'know, if you're into that sort of thing?

I agree with both of these! Don't think just because she is a girl she won't like RPG's or any other game that a guy plays. It totally is not about gender but about interests. yea i definitely know the point you are coming from but my sister is a person who doesnt like scary or challenging games. shes very picky and she also considers about how much she will spend on a certain game. she likes easy and fun games. i guess you can say that she is pretty girly.

I am a girl and Advance Wars is consuming all of my current time. Elite Beat Agents is a very good game to add into anyone's library. Phoenix wright (the first one) has some outrageous stories, although the second one was a bit more predictable and shorter. Although the Mario games that I have played through so far are not very challenging. Then again I have been gaming since I was three. And the list goes on so many more.
if she likes puzzle games and disney, there's DISNEY'S METEOS---kind of like Tetris meets Disney. :) A fun game she can pick up anytime, challenging, yet simple.
For some reason I kept hearing about this one game: Hannah Montana? (spelling?)
I heard some folks at 1up.com talking about it being listed on NPD as a very popular game (retail information) on DS for the past few months. Its based of a disney show, so I'm not sure if it'll fit the right age group for a 13 year old. Maybe she might know about the show. Ug, I just got that 'I feel old' feeling.
Lots of other games, my gf plays Mario & Luigi Partners in Time (RPG) and Tetris DS a lot.
