What gaming magazines do you subscribe and why? Also, who's (between gaming sites/tv shows/magazines)reviews do you trust the most?

The reason I ask is because I just picked up a copy of EGM because there was an exclusive article regarding Street Fighter IV in it, and it actually turned out to be one of the better magazines that I've picked up. I subscribe to Nintendo Power and Game Informer and they are pretty inconsistent with their quality of articles and their reviews are pretty hit or miss as far as their reviews working out for me. What does everyone else think?

None, as they typically take so long to ship to my place that anyting I could have read from them, has either already been known on the internet, or someone blabbed about it from (insert magazine name here) before it arrived.

I'll just stick to my internet thank you.

(ignoring the fact that I have a $12/year subscription to Nintendo Power, just because it was so damn cheap for some bathroom readin' material)

I'm subscibed to Nintendo Power, and I'm still enjoying it.

I used to have Game Informer, but since most previews for Wii games take a back seat in that magazine, I decided to quit. They are graphic *****s.

I used to subscribe to PSM (now Official U.S. Playstation Magazine or some other crap), but I figgered that since I wasn't going to get a PS3, I let it die. Now I subscribe to NP.

I read Nintendo Power some, but it's more biased to give nintendo games better ratings. EGM is probably the best followed by Game Informer.

GameSpot's forums and reviews. IGN's features and reviews. Nintendo Power's articles. XPlay's pop culture and masterbation jokes, NOT their reviews. God, I love XPlay.

Best magizines has to be EGM. To me, they love all the systems and not just one. you can tell some sites(gamespot) or magazines(gamepro) that they are very pro-microsoft. :P

none. i look at them as a reference to see where the game is critically. If im interested in the game, regardless of score, ill play it. I wont buy it unless i really like what im playing.

Last time I renewed my gamestop card they gave me a free game informer subscription. Other than that, I just buy the occasional nintendo power off the shelf.

I subscribe to Nintendo Power, but it's reviews aren't that great. They failed when they gave MP3 a 10/10, but only gave Galaxy a 9.5/10... I mainly keep the subscription for the previews...

I like Game Informer for the fact that they cover more that just Nintendo products, but my subscription expired and I never bothered to renew it...

Last magazine that I was subscribed was Nintendo Power.

Now, I read my news on GoNintendo and IGN.
Reviews are now IGN from theeditors and the readers reviews for any websites.
Forum is both IGN and GameSpot but I prefer GameSpot. You can't quote people on the forum. You need to be an insider.

Like I said, I get Game Informer and from what I've seen is that they really don't like where Nintendo is going. I also get Nintendo Power, and I really can't trust their biased opinion because they are only ever accurate with the shovelware and give everything else that has a few good points an inflated rating. I have only a few instances where both of these magazines did not ring true for me, but it's those instances that are going to ultimately nullify both of these magazines reviewaccuracy for me. With GameSpot and IGN, it's always just too hit or miss for me. I end up looking to the Reader Reviews, and those are usually the ones that convince me to make a purchase. So far with this issue of EGM, their reviews of games that I've already played look pretty close to what I saw in these games. Especially Assassin's Creed, they gave it a mediocre score which is exactly where I would have placed it. It upsets me that this game(Assassin's Creed) was up for GOTY where Metroid Prime 3 was left out here on GameSpot and other gaming media.

Nintendo Power is pretty much giving you what you want to see and hear. They overrate a lot of their games. If your asking for game reviews I think it's a bad idea asking the console owner. It's like me making the ps2 and ratting games on it. kidsgone wild 2 o ya that's a good game, but it's really a bad game. 8 out of 10. If your looking for real reviews your better off getting it from a 3rd party magz.

I liked GI but I dropped it because of monies. NP I got for virtually free so I subscribed to it because I used to get it when I was a kid but it's pretty terrible now imo.

I have Game Informer thanks to the edge card, my other most recent subscriptions were to EGM a few years back, and NP about 2 years ago. When I was getting EGM is was ok, Nintendo Powers best days are behind it, Game Informer has been the best one I've seen recently. But generally as the gaming sites get bigger and bigger and more and more spring up, The quality of the written magazine takes a hit, because they just dont do asmuch as they use to. Like how often do you see a game breaking in gaming magazines, or codes only found in gaming magazines, interviews and stories only in magazines. That use to be a common occurence, but not anymore, its all done online, and the mags get the leftovers at best.
